Great race, interesting exits from some and pretty close.

It’s going to be nice to see Leclerc in the battle and see if Merc can keep momentum going.

Sainz grabs first career win in his 150th start, from his first career pole.

But nothing was decided until last 10 laps with a late safety car.

Best racing of day and all people could talk about though was exciting wheel to wheel racing between Leclerc, on old hard tires, and Hamilton, on new soft tires, for 3rd place, during those last 10 laps.
Back and forth, back and forth, until Hamilton finally got it.

Was great race, with lots of passing especially at the end,
been a long time we have seen that much actually racing
good sign for F-1 and us the fans.

Wow, what a race, right the way through, but especially after the safety car. Those last 10 laps were crazy.
I thought the Lewis overtake going from 4th to 2nd was pretty audacious, it’s a shame he couldn’t make it stick.

Vettel announces he is retiring at end of current season.

He had a good career.
Now he can enjoy his bags of money. ?

I wonder what all those F1 drivers have for daily cars? Ford Mustangs? Broncos? Explorers?

Yeah I doubt it lol. Must be hard to top the day job vehicles

 

[Fun GT]

A friend of mine was having supper at BBQ Barn in Montreal following a F-1 weekend when Michael Schumacher pulled in driving a Bugatti Veyron. He was with 2 other friends who were also driving high end rides but no idea what they were.
They actually sat next to my buddy's table so heard it was quite the closing to a cool weekend....

Vettle had an exceptional career and was also colourful along the way.

Drivers are often given highend rides of the car company your driving for.
Tough going when merc gives you the 250K USD super car
Or Ferrari or Austin Martin, tough life for sure.

His cars are powered by Honda.

All of a sudden a car powered by Ford is looking quite envious.
Your car would probably be a GT. ?

Yeah is suppose it makes good advertising sense for them to do that. Would be some fun cars to cruise around Montreal in.

Yeah I wouldn’t mind Ford GT. Lol I just never gave it much thought in the past I guess. Would be nice to more or less get the pick of the crop.

Does Ferrari have shares in Bugatti? Lol
