I'm sure that many of the users of this site are very proficient at uploading videos and posting them. I put this together to assist anyone who is not familiar with the process.

1. Open a free YouTube account and log in. Click the "Create" button at the top right of the screen.

2. Click the "Select Files" button, then go to the drive and folder containing the video clip you want to post. Click on the file, and then click the "Open" button.

3. On this screen you give your video clip a title, and you can add a more detailed description. You will see what will the link to the video file once it is posted on the right side of the screen.

4. Once you have given it a title and a description, click "Next" at the bottom right of the screen.

5. On the next screen you chose whether or not is is suitable for children and whether or not there will be an age restriction.

6. On the next screen you can see that YouTube is in the process of uploading your video and checking it. Click "Next" at the bottom right of the screen.

7. On the next screen you pick if you want your video to be Private, Unlisted, or Public. Chose "Public" for posting here. Click "Publish" on the bottom right.

8. The next screen shows how long it will take to finish uploading your video. The larger the video file, the longer it will take.

9. If the video was 4K, it will take longer. A low resolution version may appear first.

10. Once the video is uploaded, it will appear in your Channel Content list, along with the number of views and any comments that have been left.

11. Click on your video in the Channel Content list. On the right side of the screen, you will see the video link. Highlight it, and copy it. (Highlight + right click)

12. Got to the thread where you want the video to appear. If you right click, you should be able to chose paste and put the link in:

Can you down load video from and phone orrecording device?
or is it different depending on what your using>
Excellent, question, and I was not sure of the answer, so I tried it on both my iPhone and iPad. I logged into YouTube and my phone, but I could not find a button to upload and create a video. I did the same thing on my iPad, and there was a “create” button that then took my to where I could go through the video clips on my iPad and pick one to upload.

If I had a video recorded on my iPhone, I could “air drop” it to my iPad and then upload it to YouTube.

Someone with a newer phone, or android phone may be able to upload a picture from the device into YouTube.
