Coronovirus

With political and joke thoughts aside
for a moment, with a vaccine now available
for Covid, do you see a chance of a normal summer
next year?

Or will it take much longer before we can meet and gather for events?
Thoughts?

After this whole train wreck you have to wonder, I agree with Charlie, how much more can we take?

I'm not sure we'll ever be 100% clear of this, but hopefully things improve.

That being said, I don't think you'll ever be able to view large gatherings the same way again.

I think we’re looking at summer 2022 for “Normal”.
But I think restrictions will be eased next summer in Atlantic bubble that we can get together for drives and small car shows.
Outdoors being less dangerous than indoors.

There will still be no hand shakes.
Still social distancing, wearing masks in some places and hand washing.

I doubt big indoor or outdoor shows will go ahead.
Especially Speed Sport East, indoor and coming fast in April.
Atlantic Nationals is a toss up.
It may get some components done but I think numbers will be lower than usual.
People will still be weary of crowds.

I really don't see much changing from where we're at til late spring. Vaccine rates will be a determining factor, with +70% required for "herd" protection. If everyone given the opportunity gets vaccinated, Sept-Dec 2021 is projected as Canada receiving 75% of vaccine shipments to cover all Canadians.

If the mutated strain of COVID that is active in the UK, we may see even tighter restrictions coming. The next 2 weeks in UK and western Europe will likely be a prediction of what North America can expect.
