65 Again: 2017 Shelby GT350

Only Mods to Mine were passenger side oil catch can
and Maximum motorports Caster camber plates.
reason for that choice, when I was in Sebring before car was build for my spin
it is what Ford Perfromance had put on everyone of the cars there. 350 and 350R
Lets you adjust the way you want and trust me you will want.

Clutch was a massive conversation when these cars were built.
There is a spring kit that can be bought at most suppliers
to give you the stiffer peddle most are familiar with.
I decided to wait and see how it went, after a couple weeks
I was fine and made the adjustment just fine and enjoy the lighter clutch.

I never noticed rev matching to be a problem, maybe its slightly different
in the 2 models. But I was fine with what I did, the rest I made the adjustment.
Amount of mods now are incredible, but I like the stock form.
If I had a 350, I would for sure to resonator delete.

Trevor,
Did the caster-camber plates make the tram-lining worse?
Or maybe better?
Any difference?

I’m a big fan of the Maximum Motorsport ones.

Hey Marc congrats on the new purchase, sweet ride.
I gotta say never a dull day up your way, new garage, new Edge, new Shelby..............awesome stuff.
Great way to live retirement life, enjoy buddy, after that career it's well deserved (y) (y)

Thanks Roger.

A lifetime of responsible, conservative living and spending laid the groundwork to make this possible.
We’re now done helping both kids with post secondary education and all, and Tracy will still be getting her full nursing salary for 4 to 5 years, so able to plan a bit with that.

We are fortunate.

I found it made no differencem but Ironically being in sport mode made it easier to control,
little less pulling

Sold!
Caster camber plates it is over camber bolts.
I like the Macimum Motorsports CC plates as evidenced by fact I have them in both current cars.
My only concern was if they made tram lining worse.
Now that I know they don’t, they’re going in.

Drove the car into work this morning.
I made it a point to be more agressive on the throtte with my rev matches and worked very well.
Reved higher and longer so did not have to rush to let the clutch out.
Did not get any engine braking.
Quite nice actually.
Just got to learn this car because it’s way different than the 06.
May not need tune after all.

So priority mod list would now look like this:
H pipe resinator delete. Roush possibly?
CC plates. Maximum Motorsports.
Passenger side catch can. JLT.
Washable-reuseanle air filter. Ford Performance made by Airaid.

Won’t be doing craddle lockout and vertical link out back eithet.
That stuff makes difference on regular GT but Shelby hadware is all upgraded, stiffer and bigger than GT, GT PP or GT PP2 stuff anyway, which includes Bullit and Mach1 because both those cars are based on PP2 platform from what I read.
Mach1 better than Bullitt though because it borrows adfitional parts from the Shelby, from what I read.

So rear end fine the way it is.

Don't forget the BMR jacking rails and the hood struts. ;)

I also highly recommend doing the Ford Performance lowering springs, but like most mods, they're subjective. I like 'em.

I've got JLT catch cans on the truck, super easy to use and well built.

I'm really tempted to swap the FP ones on the car for some JLT's.

I don't have the CC plates, dammit, I might have to get some after reading this, the only setting I use for daily driving is sport. lol

Height of the car just fine for me.
I don’t like cars that are too low.

Not a priority for hood struts either. ?

Well, it’s not going to be a Mach1 for me anymore.

I was going for the Mach1 right up to last week. Then confirmed the order I have in will be filled as a 2023 model.
So price increase to neighbourhood of $80,000.00.
Shelby money but still not a Shelby.
So did some online searching and found a mint 2017 with only 5600 km.
Picked it up in Montreal Tuesday.
Paid a bit of a premium for the low mileage but basically a new 5 year old car.

Similar theme as my 06.
Since the GT350 traces its origins back to 1965, I’ve already ordered the plate which will be 65AGAIN.

It’s one of 400 2017’s in Lightning blue with the black stripes.
There was 909 in Lightning blue that year.
Along with the 400 with black stripes, there was 387 with white stripes and 122 with no stripes.
It has Recaros and the electronics pack, meaning 9 speaker sound system, Sync3, Nav and dual zone climate control.

Don’t have many pics yet. It’s still filthy from picking it up.
Heavy rain in construction zone this side of Rivière du Loup in Quebec.
Got sprayed with dirty water.
Washing it is on the to do for tomorrow morning.

A couple pics from day of pickup.
