Yes, the Bahrain race really became interesting after the safety car came out. Piastri had a huge lead up till that point, and I seriously wondered if he could stay in front. I'm happy for him that he did. In some ways it was a bit like back when Max had a massive lead advantage in race after race, and the camera's rarely showed his car, because the real racing was all going on behind him.

Overall I really enjoyed the race weekend. Antonelli is clearly the star of the rookies so far, although Hadjar does have a lot of potential. The other rookies may have some disadvantages, because of the car they're in, so their full potential may not be quite so obvious. I imagine Max must be fuming, as he was becoming used to always being at the front. He blames the car of course. Some rumors by the pundits regarding his frustrations, and if he may jump ship to get in a faster car. Seems a bit far-fetched to me, but you never know when it comes to a persons ego.
George drove a great race, and it's unfortunate he was penalized, but rules are rules. You'd think he would know exactly what button on the wheel to push, so it was really his own fault. It may have been caused by the added confusion from the wheel's electrical glitch. Not something a person needs when trying to drive during a race.

ya, lots to unpacage in this one, rookies tougher go than normal, but you are right,
I also think Doohan is doing quite well, making it hard for dick head to fire him :)

Russell actually never got a penalty for pushing DRS button, his steering wheel with all the controls was not working
he had pushed the oush to talk button, wing opened, he closed it and backed off, so lost a bit of time, henase No penalty.

Norris had an intersting race, fast but bad Q3 and made some mistakes so 3rd was good result.

Hamilton who was faster in q@ than Q3 started 9th, finshied 5th said he is starting to understand cars,
I did not realize they run Brembos, he ran Carbon Industry brakes his whole career and the work totally different.
Question is, can he get is Qualifying effort better, because making up 3-5 spots a GP at the front is hard to do
every race.

Max, I don't think is going anywhere next year, with all the changes, who is going to get it right?
he could jump ship and pick a worse car, now if Red bull is bad in 2026 he might jump to better team.

Bahrain was test rack, so all teams had good data, that goes away next week, so lets see where we end up this weekend
with driver changes and 5 rookies, maes it interesting for sure.

It was a good race. (y)
The Stewards decision to give Max a 5 second penalty was a key factor in Oscars win. I bet RedBull wishes now that they had given Oscar back the position immediately. Perhaps Max's ego/confidence, and his previously having gotten away with questionable infringements, may have prevented that from happening. He seemed to believe he was in the right. They rolled the dice and lost.
Tsunoda's mistake will probably set his confidence back a bit. Unfortunate he took out Gasly. Gasly's starting position on the grid would probably have given him a decent finish in the points. Antonelli and Hadjar did very well for the young guns. The Williams team should be happy with their drivers results, placing the team in 5th for the manufactures championship. I'm sure it gave Sainz a confidence boost too.

Agree, Max was trying to game the system, but it was obvious he hadn’t braked and was never going to make that corner at the speed he was going.

I think by the time they get to the European leg of season, some serious upgrades by then
we get a handle on where everyone is.

Also there is talk, that F-1 is really worried about Qaulifying races, meaning whoever gets pole wins,
as the dirty air is playing a hug problem with passing, something that can not be fixed quickly.
So they are messing with compounds, trying to force 2 pit stops, instead of 1 to help odds of over taking
by strategy.

Then how many teams pull the plug on this year and when to spend every avilble cent in cap era
and time developing the 2026 car and remember no time in history have they done a major engine change and
chassis / Aero change at the same time. so that adds to pressure on next years car.

Not sure if anyone watches Indy races, but I felt the race at Long Beach was pretty good. Not overly exciting but some good racing non the less. Typical street track, where passing is extremely hard, and strategy plays a big roll in the results. Kirkwood deserved the win, and what's even more amazing is the amount of time he still had left on his "push to pass" advantage by the end of the race.

To be Honest every since Tony George destroyed the Indy Car series
I have not really followed it, Occasional I will watch a bit if home, channel surfing and see it on.
Sad what he did, was so incredible before he messed with. Even now its a shadow of its former self.

Yes the aero on these cars plays a huge role. Pit stop strategy can make a big difference, but also how a driver manages the tires on the track.
In many ways I really dislike the factor on how tires play a role in the races. Indy car is also affected by these rules about mandatorily having to run laps on certain compounds during a race. It must be a bit of a nightmare for a team having to set up a car to run well on the various compounds. I believe it actually hinders the car and the driver, to be able to perform at their maximum potential.
