Cool Ford Trucks

On the 7.3 Roger, I read on it.

Many enthusiasts would like yo see it in a future Raptor because they romanticize the performance 427 of the past.
That will likely never happen.

This 7.3 has nothing in common nor was it intended to have anything in common with that former engine.
The engineers did not say, wouldn’t it be cool to build another 427?

They set out to design and build a gas engine for life in work trucks, IE Super Duty.
Strong iron block, emphasis on low end torque, maximum efficiency under load and durability over motorsports type performance and power.
When they were all done with computing and engineering for the intended purpose, the most efficient displacement based on the desired goal happened to be 7.3 litres.
So it’s really a coincidence that it’s a 427 displacement.
It was not planned from the start.
 
looks like 65 based on grill. man its tempting, but almost to good of shape to mess with
