Well, as races have been recently, Mexico was one of the more exciting ones. Not for the win of course, but at times there was some really good racing going on from 2nd place back. Sad Lewis had a lousy break. He had a great opportunity kind of robbed from him. The last two laps could have been nail biting, but we will never know. It could have ended in disaster as well..
It sure helps when they race on a track where it is possible to make a pass. This should be a mandatory requirement for any track they race at. Too many ridiculous circuits run every season, but it's all about the money, not great competitive races. There are certainly many far better courses to keep racing exciting, not just a follow the leader parade.
It seemed to me that Lando started off the season as McLaren's golden boy, but Piastri's results since proved otherwise. You could be correct in that they are somehow giving Lando an edge. I'd sure hope not, but wouldn't take much. One little tweak and a driver may not even pick up on it. Less chance of them taking out one another too.. Sponsor $ could play a role in this kind of potential malarkey. UK sponsor money wants UK Champion perhaps?
Yes, poor George kept begging to get let around the kid, but he sure didn't do much. To late maybe as his tires had taken a beating by then. Least he kept his word about giving Kimi back his position. No doubt they are both good, and there is some competition going on between them on the team. George wants to remain Mercedes top driver, like Leclerc wants to remain the A driver with Ferrari. I think this internal competitiveness hinders both the teams a bit, but it does make for some interesting times on the track.
Impressive weekend attendance at over 401,000. I guess when you have a city with a population (22 million). equal to more than half that of Canada's total population, it stands to reason..
Interesting interview with Perez, stating he believes he can make a come back. He kind of blames his failing at Red Bull on Max. I guess we will find out next season.
Old Jacque Villeneuve, always quick with criticism's, pointed out that nobody that's driven for Red Bull so far, including Perez, has the skills that Max has, so he has become their scapegoat. It does stand to reason though that Max would be given priority, until another driver can equal or surpass him.
