Every summer for many years we spent our holidays at a waterfront resort, which had a launching ramp. It was our daily entertainment watching people attempting to launch their boats. I saw some of the craziest stuff imaginable. One occasion which still stands out, is when a fellow had his wife back the boat in, while he manned the boat. She actually did far better at this than most people do. After the boat was off the trailer, the husband yelled, "I'll pick you up at the dock". He then went off for a quick spin by himself, as she walked out to the dock as she was told. I watched in dumbfounded amazement as she climbed aboard, and off they went.. About ten minutes later they came racing back.
I presume he must have asked her where she had parked the car and trailer, and she told him that she had just left it on the ramp. You could hear him yelling at her, and although I couldn't make out the words, I suspect he wasn't offering her compliments on her trailering ability's..
The tide had come further in by that point. He quickly beached the boat and jumped out to move the car, but when he opened the door several gallons of sea water poured into it. Needless to say he was pretty freaked out, but amazingly it still started, and he was able to drive it out.
