New Bronco

A snap shot of the current used car market.
Some desired models are affected more than others.
The Bronco is one of those desired and rare models.
The harder they are to get the more they are affected.
The hard definition of supply and demand.

We sold this Wildtrack 2 door with the 2.7 last fall.
The MSRP was &64000.00.

The owner just traded it in last week on a Mustang.
So only driven about 9 months.

We have it listed now at $84000.00.
But the Canadian black book value lists it at $89000.00.

Remember when they used to say buying a car was never an investment, rather a necessity.
Well, recently, some have been pretty good investments.
Almost like flipping houses.

That information is confidential between the client and his salesman.
I don’t know what the client was given.

But I would hope we’re not naive to the point we think dealers can remain in business if they don’t make a profit on all transactions.

They’re in business to make money, and they need to make a profit to stay in business.

2 things.
1- The Canadian Black Book lists it another $5000.00 more so the price is fair in today’s market.

2- If a dealer was to overly price that vehicle, because ADM does not apply to used vehicles, and the client that traded it in saw that, he/she might get upset and reconsider further business with that dealer.
That may be an acceptable risk to a dealer in a large metropolitan setting, but I can assure you small town dealers can’t afford to alienate clients like that.

My post was to give an insight on the state of the current used car market as it relates to certain popular and hard to get models. Where supply and demand throws a monkey wrench in traditional popular beliefs.

Try it for yourself Trevor.
Go to MacPhee’s and feed them a line that you want to trade your Bronco on something.
Maybe a Raptor R.
Ask them to evaluate your Bronco and tell you what they would give you for it today.
See how much they offer you?
Play a little hard and they’ll negotiate.
They want your Bronco because they can’t get enough as is to satisfy all the demands they have.

And they don’t want you to go trade it at another brand’s dealership.
Tell them you’re also looking at the Dodge.
That’ll make them nervous.
They don’t want to see a Bronco on a competition lot.
They might give you a bit more just to keep that from happening.

I know certain used cars and trucks have a high demand and getting very good trades
not sure if that is more than we paid. I also understand wholesale to retail
and everyone business needs to make a profit.

Without know the details, no way to know but 20k oer for a used Bronco
seems excessive, but maybe thats what is happening with that model.
 
Similar kind of stupid pricing with travel trailers.

Guy I work with just bought a new travel trailer for $40k, but he said he got $1500 more than he paid for his five year old trade in.

Hmmm..... maybe if I get $90k trade for my car and $70k trade for my truck, that Raptor R will be mine. :ROFLMAO:;)
