Maritime mini runs.

I’m going to Cars and Coffee tomorrow morning link is on Atlantic Nationals Facebook page, you have to call Maurice to register. Leaves his Texaco Garage Replica tomorrow at 9 am sharp taking old hwy 134 to Richibucto, stop for coffee at Tim’s then back to Cocagne for 11:30. I’m registered should be a good time ?

Tried to organize a small run to go say high to Roger at his camp site today but guy who was considering going with me backed out this morning due to threat of rain.
Well he was right.
A wicked downpour went through here a half hour ago.
No space between the drops.
The kind that can damage fields and cause erosion when it’s been this dry.
Ho well, it’ll be for another day.

Annapolis Power Mill.JPG

Did a run up the Annapolis Valley today. 30 degrees in most areas but not complaining at all. Stopped for a pic.

History lesson O’the day.

Site of North America’s first grist mill built in 1607 to grind grain into flour on the LeQuille river outside Annapolis Royal. My 10th Great Grandfather lived in Annapolis at the time. I guess a mill to do the work then would be like high speed internet nowadays.

“This hydroelectric generating plant, built in 1967 near the site of Poutrincourt's 1607 mill, was the Centennial project of the Nova Scotia Light & Power Company (Nova Scotia's largest electric utility company at the time). This generating plant is powered by water from the same river that Poutrincourt's mill used.”
