Your Ultimate road trip(s) - Where would they be?

Bridge is not done yet.

We take the coast all the way up to Buctouche then carry on up past the Dune to Cap Lumiere lighthouse, then Rexton for ice cream or dinner and then back down.

City run- Leave Cole Harbour, through dartmouth, into beford
Stop for Ice cream at chicken burger. in Beford hwy. to Halifax, through north west arm,
South end Halifax, to Point pleasant park. Sunday evening cars hang out here, every type.
Grab a coffee and relax for a bit it is like a rolling car show as cars, bikes etc. come and go.
Head through downtown Halifax across old bridge, through downtown Dartmouth
eastern passage and Cow bay, then home.

Almost like roaming around the city but with a plan :)

Start in Tantallon, travel the old #3 to Hubbards, take 329 out to Blandford, return to East River. Continue to Chester and after a stop at Tim’s, backtrack to the #14 and drive to Windsor. Old route #1 brings you past Mount Uniacke , a nice walk around the grounds at Uniacke House. Back to Sackville then pick a route home.

Been there and done that, twice.
A blast each time.
2007 in 2005 Mustang GT.
Spring 2017 in New Fusion Sport.
Mountains and power never disappoint.
We live in a beautiful country.
Calgary to Vancouver Island is always rewarding drive.
Several options.
Okanagan valley, Coquihalla highway, Fraser Canyon.
They're all good.
Side trip to Squamish/Whistler on the north shore before the ferry to Nanaimo.
Old island highway Nanaimo north to Campbell river is awesome.
Side trip to Coombs, Cathedral grove and Tofino.
Can't go wrong.

Went from LA to Las Vegas last spring.
Then on Route 66 to Oklahoma before veering of to keep going east to Nashville.
Lots of points of interest to stop at along the way.
Grand canyon slight detour north. Car museums. Blue Swallow hotel. Cadillac ranch...
Then hit Corvette museum in Boling Green before resuming east to Pigeon Forge.
Then north-east on the Blue Ridge parkway to Virginia.
Upstate New York and Vermont is nice area to drive through to get to Bromont, Que.
Came down PCH to get to LA.
Not much to see in Washington state.
But opens up nicely along the coast from Oregon all the way down to LA.

Done this spring 2017.
Washington state did not offer much of the coast.
Opened up nicely from Oregon down though.
Cannon beach Oregon is just beautiful.
Santa Monica pier is cool too.
Good place to finish a day and have supper.

Florida keys is beautiful drive.
Did that one in 2009 during Mustang 45th in Alabama.
Rented car and drove down for a couple nights stay.
This one did not disappoint. Key west very laid back.
Small town feel. Walk around and see historic architecture.
Hemmingway's cottage. Mile "0" of US route one.
Bouy down town indicating only 90 miles to Havana.
So close yet so far...
Nice bars and restaurants for supper and a cold one.

Mustangs across America!
Envy you guys for that one.
I saw all the cars in Charlotte.
Roads were way too dirty up my way to break car out that early.
Would have needed closed trailer for first few days.

Those considering the Tail of the Dragon should look up the Blue Ridge Parkway.
In the same hills and finishes or starts only a few miles from the T of D.
But much longer and offers more point to point or destination opportunities then T of D.
T of D, as iconic as it is, is only a local short drive, sometimes quite congested with being so close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge resort towns.
However, Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Forest drives link together for over 700 miles of driving from Virginia to North Carolina.
Twisty and mountainous driving with scenic stops every few miles.
Designed for automobile driving and to this day, no commercial vehicles allowed.
Just cars and the odd RV.
Lots of pullouts to nearby towns and cities for accommodations and food or fuel.

Something like this sounds amazing but too early for me to break out the Mustang up my way.
Would have to fly down like 50th anniversary in 2014.

The Henry Ford is nice.
It's more about American industrial development than a car museum though.
I had the preconceived idea that it was all cars. I was wrong.
Still very interesting.
For cars only, I got a kick out of Roush's private car museum, not far from the Henry Ford.

It's called the Roush Collection and Retail store
11851 Market street
Livonia, Michigan, 48150

(734)-779-7290

The Roush plant is also cool to visit. Also in Livonia.
It's very much like Shelby in Las Vegas.

Good old Albert county.
I remember it well.
Worked in Hillsborough 1989 to 1993.
A variation to that drive is to go waterside from Riverside-Albert to Alma.
Catch cape Enraged on the way and drive by waterside beach.

Nice back roads through Pine Glen, Osborne corner, past foot of Caledonia mountain and up through Turtle creek to upper Coverdale. Not long by itself but would tie in nicely with drive to Salisbury and Petitcodiac.

For half day drive up here I head north east hwy #17 to Tide Head, then along the coast through Campbellton to Dalhousie and Charlo.
Can come back to Sugarloaf park through back roads in Eel River Crossing, Balmoral, Val D'Amour but last time I did that hit a rough stretch of road.
Last few times jump on highway #11 from Charlo to Campbellton and back on hwy #17 to St-Leonard.
This drive always includes lunch at Dairy Queen in Atholville, Pizza Delight in Campbellton or La Source restaurant in Charlo.
The coast from Campbellton to Charlo is very nice.
Highway #17 is very fun to drive. Two way traffic all the way.
Lots of hills and curves. Passing lanes. Not much truck traffic on weekends.
I try to hook up with guys from Edmundston or Grand Falls.
We leave around 10 in morning and back for supper.

Another shorter drive is hwy #108 to PlasterRock, with optional stop at Settlers' Inn restaurant in Plaster Rock for coffee or desert.
Then hwy #109 or hwy #390 to Perth-Andover, they eaTh do a side of the Tobique river.
Then onto old TCH from Perth-Andover to St-Leonard.
West River road along St-John river an option instead of old TCH.
Or route #105 back road through Tilley to Grand Falls.
Can be done in under two hours if no stops.
Return leg goes through Grand Falls no matter which option chosen.

We did a fall run and stayed in Charlo, we through Gaspe Peninsula
Amazing views and great drive.
