Vehicle transportation

Does anyone know a good transportation company I am looking to have the car transported to DaSilva Racing in Pickering to have some upgrades completed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The Mach 1 has a very low front splitter so care and attention is a must.
Thanks

Two things now preclude you from using a commercial semi like the ones that serve dealerships.

1st, they have now installed your extended front splitter which hangs low and forward.

2nd, the rubber pucks that Ford places in the front strut springs during shipping to keep the front end higher and from compressing were removed during the PDI.

There’s no way it’ll climb up on a commercial semi hauler now.
You’ll have to look for specialized car hauling services like for exotics.
The ones that serve Barrett-Jackson.

Or, someone or a service who have a dedicated car hauler trailer with low load height and long ramp door at the back.
And then they can lower the back even more by raising front of trailer during loading by jacking the front up.
And can still require a board or 2x10 here or there to make sure all is good.

I’ve loaded and hauled a Bullitt with similar trailer setup.
It went in without issue.
Your’s is lower, but should still make it on with proper attention to details.

I don’t have any specific company to recommend though.
Have never used those services.
I have my own open deck trailer and my cousin at the dealership has his own closed trailer like above.
We are self sufficient.

You could drive.
Be a nice way to break in and get to know the car.

I’ve driven there several times.
I offered before, if you want to drive and have a right seat co-pilot, I’d be up for a car guy trip.
Could do the introductions at the other end.
We could stop in at Mustang Direct on the way by if you want ant to look at t-shirts, signs or collectables.
We drive right by their place.

I can ask my cousin next week if he would consider hiring out his trailer and a truck.
Maybe you can rent the trailer and a truck from him and I could take a couple days off from the dealership.
You could pay me to take it up.

I’ve never done anything like that.
Just throwing ideas out to help a fellow Mustang owner and forum member.
It would not be cheap.
Expenses would factor in as well.

I’ve used the trailer before to serve the dealership’s needs.
To deliver Mustangs to our out of town customers, like Moncton.

See if you can rent a car hauler.

Was that Mach 1 a track pack like yours?
The non track pack Mach 1 is basically a Bullitt.
Higher ground clearance and not that huge splitter in front.

Big difference when comes to loading on a trailer.
2x10’s will become your new best friends.

Good luck, whichever way you go.

This is my open deck hauler.
Served me very well for many years with the 06, which has lots of ground clearance, even after lowered 1 inch all around.

But now that I also have a 2015, I’m looking at getting a closed hauler with a long door ramp for loading.

Much less clearance on all the S550’s.
I can get the 2015 on my trailer but I need to use ramp extensions that I fashioned out of 2x10’s and blocks.

For what it would cost to haul up in an inclosed trailer,
and back, likely than more than half the cost of a enclosed trailer.

in todays market, if you can find a trailer, buy it, use it and then sell it.
for what you would lose, like still be ahead money.

Nice ramps!
Did a local welding shop do those for you Trevor?
I never thought of it but I could do the same.

Ramps that came with my trailer are 3 feet long.
But if I had 5.5 foot long ramps, that fit in the bed of my truck, I think that would serve my needs with the 2015.
They would almost be double the original length.

Could do away with my homemade wooden extensions.
Always a little more anxious using those.

And how do you haul them around?

On the trailer, strapped under the car?

They’re too long to put in the truck.

Hauled like that, 6 or 8 foot ramps would be possible for me…

Check Atlantismotorgroup.ca out of Charlottetown. They do custom hauling in an enclosed trailer. Also a race team, so know the business. Can’t tell you an estimated cost, but the right setup for moving your car.

I had them made 6 years ago for that trailer, which is lower than most at back.
Hugh did engineering math for me, needed 11'4" to not scrap loading,
I had made 12' to be safe, work great.

I think they would fit under car, but never had to.
I load in back of box, up in air over tailgate, with trailer on
no overhang issues, heavy enough, not going anywhere, but
I use tie down straps at back to keep in place and has worked great
for my uses so far. I also have a custom 6'5" set ( longer than originals)
for other uses if needed.

MY trailer is Aluminum 10,000 lb trailer, 22'long wooden floor
but fairly light weight. WOrks great for hauling any car or truck.
I have since added a 4000lb winch, makes it good for moving aorund my other projects :)

Keep in mind my R in stock form is lower than most cars.

I am hoping an enclosed trailer will be in my future to,
came very close last year, used and guy wanted a bit to much.

on my wish list, but not in panic :)
