Tyre / Tire buying Advice

my car never came with a spare, has repair kit built into where spare time goes,
not sure how long it last or how good it is, but I have serious issues if I have a flat,
not buying my tires in 99% of places normal take 3-4 weeks to get when I order, never know where they are coming from,
so I am flat deck home, which would be pricy depending on where I am.
I am in the same boat Trevor. I do have a couple can of run flat

What ever happened to 205/70R14’s lol

Hagerty is usually15 years or older for the insured vehicle. My understanding was you cannot just buy the roadside assistance package from them. You need to have at least the one vehicle with them. The roadside assistance plan that I have from them is whole house so any vehicle registered under my name is covered regardless of age. It was cheaper than CAA plans when I checked a few years ago. That may have changed though. I haven’t checked in years.
Worth checking into that!

I'll probably catch hell for talking winter tires in summer, but I finally found a set that fit to OEM sizing.

This is the first time I have found a dedicated LT315/70R17 winter tire, Nokian Haakapelitta LT3's.

Every other winter since 2011, I've had to run undersized winter tires because I couldn't find 315's. Not any more !

Got a friend in Saint John that got me on to Nokians, he's been running them for years and spoke highly of them.

Having 315's available sealed the deal, just need some new TPMS and I'm all set, the truck doesn't recognize the ones from 2011.

Cool wear indicators.

Nokians makes a good winter tire. That is a very cool wear bar. Definitely keeps the guess work out of it.

Just my opinion, but after running the BFG KO2 A/T's for so many years, I found that while they aren't bad in deep snow, they perform really poorly on icy roads, personally I think the tread pattern is too chunky for icy roads.

Huge difference in stopping between dedicated winter tires and the BFG's, so for what it costs, I run winters, been doing it since before 2011.

Pretty happy I finally found the right size though, time will tell how well they work.

I have to agree on the K02 comment. I love my K02’s , however in certain conditions I find they push way more than they should. I haven’t bothered running 2 sets yet. I have gotten somewhat use to the quirks. Lol

I run what came on Bronco and Raptor no issues,
but then again I am in plow truck for the worst of most storms, But I run all season on work trucks

I’m actually surprised that you get away with all seasons in the plow trucks with some of the crapp you must go trough.
considering the all seasons we run, they are somewhat aggressive and most folks wouldn't know they were not winters,
but that said trucks are loaded with salt and plows, and most of all if you know how to drive not an issues :p
