Track photos

Another example of mixed class racing that was popular at Westwood back in the 60's and 70's. This was a race within a race, as the different classes vied among themselves to finish first in class, and the faster classes had to work their way through the slower cars. It always made for an exciting event.

Racing in the rain.
This photo was from a race at the old Westwood Circuit in BC Canada. The track was built in the late 1950's up on a mountain in what was then a very rural area, and was the first road racing track in Canada. It raced for several years in BC, including the Knox Mountain Hillclimb event. The famous Cobra was painted white by the owner Ray Cooke at the time this picture was taken, (Circa 1974), but was later sold and restored to it's previous color, a bright yellow.
This same car is now often seen at Historic races held around the world, and is known as the Hairy Canary or Dyna Glaze sponsored Cobra.
