Its that time of the year.
Yes this has been discussed many times and will be
until we don't drive toys anymore.

When are you putting your car away?
How do you store yours?
Heated garage, cold storage?
Home or away?
what are your special tricks and thoughts
on the right way to do it?

I know we all have our ideas and systems,
whats yours?

summer sure went quick!.
i put on 8000km this summer. mine goes away this Saturday. off site in a heated warehouse close to home with pest control and security surveillance.
i also put about 42 psi in the tires to minimize spring flat spots. i give it a good cleaning in and out, spread a good coat of leather moisturizer on the seats, disconnect the battery, run through some fuel stabilizer and seafoam, crack the windows a touch and put the cover on it. i keep the same oil in it as long as its not any more than 1000-2000km, as i always change in the spring when i get it out.

Mine is not ready to put away yet, Last year I stored in heated secure place, where I had full access to.
I have decent size garage can keep at home, but if stored I have more space for other projects, hobbies etc.
Not sure when I will put away, hoping for another spin or two first. Forecast for flurries tomorrow, I hope nobody salts
that will signal the end :)

Mine goes into dry, heated storage next weekend. Try to run tank to 1/4 add stabilizer then fill to avoid condensation. Silicone spray all rubbers. General cleanup wash / wax. Run 16,000 synthetic oil and only 5200 km this year, so same oil til next spring. Toss in some dryer sheets under seats, glove box, trunk as critter deterrent. Steel wool in tailpipes all "just in case" . Finally pop latches on convert top, disconnect battery, and cover. Always take last pic of odometer in case any joy rides might happen. Take video of interior and exterior and get pic from storage when it's tucked away in event of anything happening so I have something to show insurance adjustor.

As you would expect....just got shipping confirmation on longtubes and xpipe due to arrive Friday. Only placed order on May 15th ! At least, will have it ready to go in spring, hopefully for the run to Pete's.

We are moving in a couple weeks .. so I will finally have a proper garage for storage!! i'm so happy. Anyway, it will be covered and the garage can be kept heated... but I guess I don't know: how warm does it need to be? 5deg? 15deg? anything above freezing?

Less then 2 weeks left. She will spend the long winter in my unheated attached garage, hooked to a 4 amp battery tender.Gas tank filled all the way up, Oil will be change in the spring. Usually I start her up at least every month and let her run until normal temp. This will be my winter toy...

Yeah I always do the dryer sheets as well . Sometimes forget the tailpipes. I need to ask why you disconnect the convertible top latches? Never heard of that one and I am curious.

Not sure if it's necessary but figured releasing pressure on gasket would keep its form and avoid leaking over time.

Little slower, but could still be fun.

My last run was today. Will finish the season putting 9700 km on Mustang and 4000 on the Harleys. My toys stay at home in heated garage. I keep in floor heat set at 60 . Will give everything good cleaning, fuel stabilizer, fill tank, battery monitor ,unlatch rag top & cover everything for the long winter.
