The VI Cruises held a small get together on Sunday. This is not an organized car club, just a bunch of fellows who mainly by word of mouth, decided to have meet ups with other car enthusiasts. There are no dues, no club officers, and there are no members. This alleviates concerns about having to get event insurance, bank accounts, officer elections, etc. etc. There is coffee cruise meet up's, cruise nights, an annual pig roast, and Spamfest.
It was the 10th annual Spamfest. It's called this as trophies are awarded, not for the cars, but for the best recipes incorporating Spam in them. People whip up something at home and enter it in the taste contest. Some interesting entries included Spam Sushi, Spamokopita, Spam meatballs, Spam salad, Spam gyozas, etc. (Personally, I admit I have enjoyed it occasionally, fried with a sprinkling of brown sugar.)
Just a lot of fun, some nice people, and some beautiful local cars from around Vancouver Island. The VI in VI Cruises stands for Vancouver Island. It was great to get the Cobra out so it could stretch it's legs!
Some pictures from the event.

Also a nicely put together You-Tube video. My Cobra roadster is barely visible in the background at the 3.31 mark. I arrived late so none taken of me arriving.
