Down to 20 games left to go, Trade deadline over and the race is on
for a playoff spot,
In the west, Edmonton is not leading the west, they are chasing a playoff spot.
Few small trades and as always goaltending problems
With Sharks, Nashville and kings all chasing a wildcard spot. tight race.
East, Habs only Canadian team in playoffs and did nothing at trade deadline. ( Might regret that)
with Ottawa making a huge push for spot and blue jackets.
Leafs not looking good to make it, WOW whoda thunk it
I am really upset by this
Buffalo is on a tear and added a few pieces at deadline,
Busy, busy 4-5 week ahead, fun to watch.

Minnesota Wild's Bill Gurin GM , I hop he is on something, thats not a normal look.

Quick update, with teams down to 8-9 games left, Massive fight in the Atlanitc for the last 2 wild card spots.
in the west, Av's and Dallas only 2 teams in NHL to have locked down a spot.
Folks in west, should be happy they are not in east, Most would not be in playoffs.
Oilers only Canadian team in the west to currently be in the play off picture.
And they have been average last 10 games, with Goalie issues as always.
Vegas fires coach with 8 games left and in playoffs. and guess whos back,
yup Torts, this should be fun to watch.
The east, Well leaf fans are safe, they will not lose in the first round this year.
Can't even lose enough to get there top 5 pic, not good at doing anything
Sens having goailie issues, still has a shot at making it. but in tight, among 6-7 teams fighting for same spot.
My Habs, doing well but need a few more wins to be sure of spot. Goailies finally look good,
Offence clicking well with caulfield edging towards 50 and outside shot a the rockets trophy, now that would be very cool.
Suzuki close to hitting 100 points over 10 players with 10 goals.
Defence has been a little subject on occasion. They are on roll now, hopefully go into playoffs same way.

Yeah it’s getting tight. I know Gary Betman would never allow this again, however I would love it if we didn’t separate the conference for playoff contentions Top X amount of teams make it regardless of location. Then it’s truly a best of the best playoff.
Should be 1-16 top teams
and play off format should be that way also.
Screw the travel.
