DRL on aftermarket headlights

Greetings, first time posting. I have an 02 GT and the headlights are beyond yellow and fogged. I’ve ordered some replacement headlights that have the LED DRL lightbar. I also ordered LED headlight bulbs..

I assume the DRL module powers the high beams. The new LED headlight bulbs will become the DRL like the factory bulbs.

I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and guys tapped into a variety of circuits like the wipers (switched), the turn signal and another random one to power the LED strips or DRLs on the replacement headlight assembly.

Has anyone wired replacement units and if so how did you power the LED strips?

I have never did the full upgrade like this.

I'm not familiar with the the 02 generation, but I disabled my DRL through Forscan, then the Led strips can be wired directly to ignition.. if you know someone with Forscan, you can ask them to check, or Google to see if it's an option for yours.

I have also never done this upgrade on the 01. I would go with ignition as well. Maybe someone will be able to chin in with the exact wire they used.

I just talked to my buddy with Forscan, your 02 does not accept Forscan modifications. But he did say, it should be easy to bypass the DRL module??

he just texted me again and said he found a link in a forum that says all you have to do is pull the DRL fuse. good luck
