[h=1]Under 10,000 Miles: 1977 Dodge Aspen[/h]
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/s-l1600-5-2-e1466428622260-630x389.jpg

Years later, the Dodge Aspen remains a fairly unremarkable vehicle. But finding one with under 10,000 original miles like this example here on eBay is quite unrepeatable, so we’ll make an exception for this cream puff in New York with an $8,000 Buy-It-Now and the reserve unmet.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/s-l1600-7-1-e1466428653852-630x385.jpg

This example makes do with the smallest engine in the lineup, the 225 cubic inch slant-six. This modest power plant has somewhat of a legendary reputation for reliability and durability due to its sturdy design and components. In fact, I have a colleague who is big into 1980s-era Dodge trucks and swears by the slant-six as one of the best Mopar engines ever offered. The engine bay does look like one of a nearly-new car, but you’ll still want to perform preventive maintenance where needed.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/s-l1600-8-2-e1466428670975-630x404.jpg

One of the most profound benefits of low-mileage survivors is the near-perfect interior. Sure, the original paint and unmarked bodywork is nice, but all too often interiors in cars of this vintage become truly funky places to operate from within. The seat fabric is groovy, the carpets unmarked and the dashboard free of any cracks and retaining bright colors on the gauge faces. The seller says the interior is free from stains and the headliner is in perfect condition.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/s-l1600-6-2-e1466472419348-630x429.jpg

While I generally take offense to sellers modifying survivor cars, I do like the one change he made: upgrading to period-correct yet slightly more aggressive wheels and tires. I dig the look, and the original steel wheels on hubcaps are included. The wheel spats are pretty slick, too! I’d love to know the history of how this Aspen came to be driven so infrequently, wouldn’t you?

[h=1]Original and Almost Perfect: 1977 Ford LTD Landau[/h]
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062216-Barn-Finds-1977-Ford-LTD-Landau-1-630x473.jpg

Here’s a 1977 Ford LTD Landau and it’s in Joliet, Illinois. It can be found on eBay with a current bid price of just over $3,500 and the reserve isn’t met. There are over 100 photos of this great car, check them out for yourselves and let us know if you think this car is as nice as I think it is!

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062216-Barn-Finds-1977-Ford-LTD-Landau-2-630x473.jpg

This thing is nice! There are only 42,900 miles on this car and it basically looks perfect, or darn close to perfect. It’s for sale by the second owner and it’s been maintained and everything works on it. The seller says that the undercarriage is solid, clean and dry.”

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062216-Barn-Finds-1977-Ford-LTD-Landau-3-630x473.jpg

In 1976, the LTD Brougham was discontinued and the Landau took over for those folks wanting the plush, signature ride that only the best could offer. Well, I guess they could have gotten a Mercury or a Lincoln if they wanted something better, but, you know what I mean. 1978 would be the last year of the full-sized Fords, although, looking back on them now, even the post-1979 models are huge compared to the size of most cars today.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062216-Barn-Finds-1977-Ford-LTD-Landau-4-630x473.jpg

The greatness continues on to the interior of this time machine. As huge as this car is, I bet that I still couldn’t stretch out my legs as far as I can on our new cars, which seems weird with such a huge car. A couple of cars this big would fill our garage and wouldn’t leave much room left over for motorcycles or bikes. But, I would sure love to have one like this.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062216-Barn-Finds-1977-Ford-LTD-Landau-5-630x473.jpg

This is Ford’s 6.6L 400 Cleveland V8 with either 168 or 173 hp. Oddly enough, that’s about the same horsepower as a couple of our new 4-cylinder cars have now. And, this car, as on all cars from this era, has it’s share of some fancy emissions equipment. It’s all packed in there pretty tightly. I can bet that this car as about as smooth and quiet as it gets, I love these big Fords from the 1970s. I don’t know what this one will sell for, $5,000? $7,500? It’s a two-door and it’s in almost-perfect condition, that has to drive the price a bit. What do you think of these big, late-1970s Fords? Wouldn’t this make a fun cross-country cruiser, especially with gas hovering somewhere just over $2 a gallon?

[h=1]Look Ma, No Hump: 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado[/h]
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1967-Oldsmobile-Toronado-630x394.jpg

“Front wheel drive” and “muscle car” are not phrases that you normally hear together, but Oldsmobile combined the two when they created Toronado. The whole concept may have been born out of a need for production efficiency, but the result was a handsome car that could some crazy front wheel burnouts. This particular car hasn’t been burning rubber for a few decades though. It was parked in 1986 and is going to need a lot of work to make it driveable again, but with the bidding starting at $200 and no reserve, this project Toronado may be worth picking up. It’s listed here on eBay and is located in Anderson, California.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Toronado-Interior-630x394.jpg

Unfortunately, the inside looks as crispy as the outside. By the looks of it, this car was fitted with the deluxe interior which added full length arm rests on the doors, a center arm rest, and a unique button tuck pattern. There are a few companies out there reproducing parts for these, but I wasn’t able to find anyone making upholstery kits, so you will want to find a good shop who can use whats left of the interior to stitch you up a new one. Look ma, no hump!

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Super-Rocket-V8-630x394.jpg

The use of a front wheel drive system may have made things a little tight up front, but it made more room inside the cabin. Without a drive line to worry about, the floor could be flat. When most of us think about FWD, we normally think about efficiency. There may have been some production efficiency at work here, but the 425 Super Rocket V8 was far from (fuel) efficient. That isn’t what the Olds guys were going for though. They were shooting for a higher end car with plenty of power regardless of which end it went to. That engine tranny combo may not have lasted long in a car, but found its way into countless motorhomes for decades to come.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Toronado-Taillights-630x354.jpg

This Toronado is going to need a lot of mechanical and cosmetic work before it’s going to be presentable. In classic Barn Finds fashion though, I’d focus on getting it running first. Then, after getting it moving, turning, and stopping well, I’d turn my attention to the interior. Once that was done, I’d drive this toasty Toronado around just to see how people would react. I can hear it now, when are you going to paint that thing!

[h=1]Get Electra-fied: 1970 Buick Convertible[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/01515_cm1g7gLRWZY_600x450.jpg
It’s time to get Electra-fied with this “Big Beautiful Buick for a Song.” Buy your ticket for this boat ride for $750 or less. The seller’s ad says he “just pulled out the motor last week for another project.” Not sure why he felt the need to waste this big beautiful Electra 225 convertible for that, because it’s sure not like there isn’t an abundant supply of rusted and destroyed sedans he couldn’t have taken an engine from instead.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/00606_3OqJZ6ZiYxm_600x450.jpg
But he’s consistent. What he doesn’t know about engine sourcing, he also doesn’t know about how to sell the remains on craigslist. These are the only three photos provided, with almost no information to go along with. The photos suggest the body might be fairly decent, and the one photo of the interior shown below, confirms that if this is an “outdoor” car, it hasn’t been one for long. I like the cloth seats, different from the vinyl we usually see in convertibles.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/00E0E_d33zJkaryCf_600x450.jpg
This is a big, gorgeous floaty-boat ride, in an interesting color, and in need of some substantial TLC. Find your deuce and a quarter right here on craigslist in St. Louis. Because, wouldn’t you really rather have a Buick?

[h=1]BF Exclusive: 1969 Shelby GT500[/h]
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1969-Shelby-GT500-630x354.jpg

We’ve had the privilege of featuring some great exclusives, but this could be one of the coolest! This 1969 Shelby GT500 is claimed to be all original – still wearing its factory paint and interior. There are 73k miles showing on the odometer so it has seen some use, but it’s been well cared for and could be one of the best unrestored examples still around. It’s only had three owners since new and is listed in the Shelby registry. This may have been the last of the GT500s, but it was also one of the most powerful pony cars ever built!

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Cobra-Jet-428-630x354.jpg

After having so much success with their track oriented GT350, Shelby and Ford decided to build something a bit more appropriate for the drag strip. So, they dropped a big block into it and added more luxury features. People deride the the direction that Ford took with this car today, but it actually outsold its little brother by a wide margin. These may have been more GT than sports car, but with a 428 Cobra Jet under the hood, they were undoubtedly quick.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/GT500-Interior-630x354.jpg

The automatic transmission is proof that the GT500 had drifted away from Shelby’s original concept. Not everyone wants to ride around in a race car though. It still has to be exciting to sit behind that wheel knowing that you have 400 horsepower on tap! Obviously, the rubber floor mats need to go, but I bet they did a fine job at protecting the carpet. The seller believes that the only items that have been replaced are the tires, battery, starter, hood hold downs, reverse lights, air cleaner, and brakes.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Side-Scoops-630x355.jpg

This car had some serious duct work! The ones on the hood are functional, but I’m not sure about the others. Everything is claimed to work here including the sequential taillights. There’s no rust through and the car runs and drives great. You can contact the seller here via email if you are interested. That $100k price tag might seem high at first, but just try to find another survivor GT500 like this for less!

[h=1]White, Green And Rusty: 1954 Chevy 3100[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1954-Chevrolet-3100-e1466803389877-630x394.jpg
Patina might be one word to describe the finish on this old Chevy truck, it probably wouldn’t be the first one I would pick for it, but to each their own! I will give it to the seller, it has a neat look to it in an old, rusty and worn out way. You can’t replicate this look and it seems more and more people are into patina these days. For those that like the idea of having a one of a kind truck with a finish you can’t replicate, find this 3100 here on eBay in Massillon, Ohio with a current bid of $1,800 and no reserve.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1954-Chevrolet-3100-Bed-e1466803414466-630x421.jpg
It isn’t until you look at the truck bed that you realize how rusty this truck really is. It isn’t beyond repair, but it’s definitely going to need lots of work. The seller claims the engine does run though, but only after pouring fuel in the carb. It also lacks brakes, but that isn’t a huge surprise given the condition of the exterior. It’s going to take a lot to make this truck a driver, but it could be a killer shop truck or hot rod! Personally, I’d get it running and safe to drive, then worry about cleaning up the interior and bed. From there, well the sky’s the limit! What about you though? What would you do with this truck?

[h=1]Flashback Find: 1964 Volvo P1800 S[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1964-Volvo-P1800-S-630x420.jpg
We recently celebrated BF’s 5th birthday, which got us reminiscing about some of our first finds! So when I spotted this P1800, it was a flashback to the very first post I ever wrote and to the early days of this site. This Volvo looks to be a survivor like the one from 5 years ago, but this one isn’t quite as nice. It’s definitely a barn find though and it looks extremely solid! It’s said to run well and just needs to good freshening. Find it here on eBay in Sachse, Texas with a current bid of $8,300.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1964-Volvo-P1800-S-Interior-630x354.jpg
I’ve had the pleasure of working on several Volvo from this era and have always enjoyed the experience. They are well designed and built machines. I wouldn’t call them sports cars, but they are fun to drive, versatile and can be quick with a little work. P1800’s are more sporting than most of their Swedish siblings and have the interior to prove it. They do have one short coming and that’s rust issues. Amazingly, this car is solid and will just has a little surface rust to deal with. I’d get it treated right away though, before it becomes an issue. Who else here is a fan of the P1800? Or are there other Volvos you’d rather have?

402 under the Hood !

[h=1]Super Cheyenne: 1972 Chevrolet C-10[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1972-Chevrolet-C-10-630x355.jpg
This C-10 is pretty cool! It’s a basic 1/2 ton short-bed truck, but it’s fitted with just about every option you could get in ’72. It was supposedly purchased by a certified Chevrolet dealer for his own use. This truck has some rust that needs to be dealt with, but the fuel and brake systems have already been gone through. The seller claims that it drives and stops perfectly now. I knew these C-10s were hot, but I had no idea they could be worth so much! This one is a little crusty in appearance, but the more you look at it, the more you will want it. Find this one here on eBay where bidding is over $11k with less than a day left.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Rust-Under-Doors-630x355.jpg
It may run and stop well, but this truck still needs some work. The seller was honest enough to include photos of the problem areas though. You should always look at the bottom edge of the doors on any car you buy because the drain holes can become clogged with debris and the resulting rust can be a pain to repair. Besides this area and a few spots in the bed, I can’t find any cancer that appears to be too serious though.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Options-630x354.jpg
The seller claims that this truck is fitted with every option available in 1972. That may be the case, but I thought you could get the 402 in ’72? Either way, this was very well outfitted rig. The Cheyenne Super package was the top of the line package available on the C-10. It added a lot of trim and comfort items. This thing even has dealer installed air conditioning so it was pretty cushy for a truck.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Hounds-Tooth-Fabric-630x355.jpg
The Cheyenne Super added extra foam and hounds tooth patterned fabric to the bench seat. You can also see the wood grain accents that were part of the package. These items didn’t really make the truck all that much better when new, but apparently they make it much more valuable today. I’d love to have one of these for the occasional Home Depot run, but that’s probably not an option in this price range. This one will most likely go to a bowtie collector who will either restore or preserve it. Looks like a Super Cheyenne to me!

[h=1]King Of The Road: 1961 Imperial[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1961-Imperial-Crown-Southampton.jpg
This Chrysler built Imperial might have huge wings, be massively long and quite luxurious inside, but I’m not sure I’d call it the King of the road like the seller does. They do point out that these were rather rare compared to their Cadillac and Lincoln counterparts in ’61. I’m still not sure if that makes it the king though. Whether it’s the King or not, I still like these big Chryslers and this one looks like a great find! At $7,500 with the option to make a lower offer, this seems like a lot of car for the money and can be found here on eBay in Conrad, Iowa.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1961-Imperial-Crown-Hardtop.jpg
While some might find the styling of these cars to be a bit over the top, I actually really like their looks. I won’t lie, I’m not a huge fan of the pink… I mean Malibu Tan color combo on it, but it would draw lots of attention! One this is for sure, you’d never loose this beast in a crowded parking lot.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1961-Imperial-Crown-Engine.jpg
After being parked for who knows how long in this barn, it isn’t in the best of condition. The seller claims it does run and drive around the yard, but that it isn’t road worthy and will need to be hauled home. The 413 V8 is a big durable engine, so I’m sure the mechanical systems just need a tune up and some new fluids to be ready for use. It’s the brakes that I’d worry about first with this one! This is a lot of car to stop, so you’ll want the brakes in top shape if your going to drive it any distance.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1961-Imperial-Crown-Interior.jpg
The interior is in need of a serious cleaning, but it looks complete and salvageable. Finding replacement pieces could be tricky, seeing as only about 7,500 of these were built. I would want to make sure all the hard to find bits are still here and in good shape before making an offer. Given the condition and the fact that it’s a 4 door, I would offer substantially less than their BIN, but if you can get it for a couple grand less you’d be getting a lot of steel and fins for your money! The question is, would you call this the King of the road?

[h=1]World’s Fair Special: 1965 Mustang GT[/h]
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1965-Mustang-GT.jpg

This ’65 Mustang is claimed to be one of the first GTs built. Apparently there were 60 built for the World’s Fair which was held in New York between April of 1964 and October of 1965. Each of the cars was done up in the same Wimbledon White paint and two-tone interior color scheme. I knew that Ford had debuted the Mustang at the World’s Fair, but I’d never heard about these cars. The GT package added front disc brakes, quick ratio steering, and heavy duty suspension. So, it was nice to have, but having one of the first Mustangs so equipped would be even better! Some documentation is in order here, but it’s located in Vacaville, California and is listed here on eBay where bidding is currently right over $10k.

[h=1]Certified Original! 34,290 Mile 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/c2-7-e1466897529892-630x421.jpg
It’s not often that you get the chance to purchase a car that’s actually been certified by the marque owner’s club as being 100% original. Now we realize that isn’t really 100%, but what that does mean is that 100% of the paint, chrome, upholstery, carpet, glass and vinyl roof are original. It’s located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is up for auction here on eBay. Bidding is starting at $10,000 and of course there is a reserve.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/c3-7-e1466898158508-630x421.jpg
The car’s cloth interior, carpet, headliner, trunk mat, vinyl roof, tinted glass, and even the T-3 headlights are all the original parts it left the dealership with. The car even has it’s original radiator hoses and brakes, although I’m not sure I’d want to drive it very far with those hoses! According to the seller, the drive belts, battery, exhaust, tires, and tune-up items are the only items that have been replaced.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/c1-4-e1466898311728-630x421.jpg
Just look at that shiny paint. I’m amazed at how nice this looks! Someone must have really loved this car–the seller says they purchased it from the original owner in 2007.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/c5-6-e1466898446291-630x421.jpg
While I can’t say I like the interior, it’s certainly in nice condition! The dash, gauges, steering wheel and other components look just as nice. I can’t believe no one has sat in these seats with an uncapped pen, or spilled black coffee, or any of the number of things I or other family members have managed to do to our fabric interiors over the years!
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/c6-4-e1466898677190-630x421.jpg
Under the hood looks nice, but obviously not as nice as the exterior of the car. I’m not sure at what point you would want to clean up and repaint some of those components, but remember, it’s only original once! I would certainly be proud to both drive and show this cool original vehicle. Speaking of cool — the air conditioning compressor is the only non-working component; it’s seized and the seller has removed the belt. However, they are including a functional age-appropriate spare if you choose to replace the original and make the system functional. I guess that would depend on what you were doing with the car, but with everything else working, I think I’d do it. Could you find a home for this really original car?

[h=1]1976 Corvette 4-Speed Survivor At No Reserve![/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/b1-4-630x354.jpg
We’re on a hot streak for survivor cars at the moment–I like it! This survivor 1976 C3 Chevrolet Corvette is wearing it’s original paint that looks pretty good, and it’s only covered 30,748 miles so far–I’d love to be the next driver! It’s located in Marshall, Illinois and is up for auction at no reserve here on eBay.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/b3-3-630x354.jpg
I happen to like the later 70’s bumpers like this over the chrome bumpers and “Kamm” tail of the earlier C3 cars. I’m split on the large glass fastback of the very last C3’s or the upright rear window and “flying buttresses” of this car, but I do like this one. I’m also a big fan of the rally wheels with the super deep stainless steel trim rings. Trivia: the only two cars that I’m aware of that originally came with 15″ trim rings this deep are Corvettes and Triumph TR6’s.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/b2-4-630x354.jpg
The sleekness of the C3 “coke bottle” shape is really evident in this shot. Yes, a lot of folks say bad things about the C3, but look, you can be only the third owner of this one, it’s very original and even has a four-speed manual transmission!
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/b4-8-630x354.jpg
That’s original leather seats and a four speed, what look like perfect door panels and dash. The owner states that they planned to keep this car forever, but as you might expect, situations change and it has to be sold.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/b6-630x354.jpg
As you can see, the car also comes with a terrific set of documentation as shown. I like that even the little key fob is period and Corvette!
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/b5-4-630x354.jpg
Admittedly, the 180 horsepower, 350 cubic inch V8 isn’t the most desirable engine in the world, but it is original to the car. Apart from the previous owner painting some items under the hood, the appearance is very original under here as well. The one main thing missing as far as I’m concerned is air conditioning, although the seller does say the clock and emergency brake don’t work. I’m guessing those are both fixable by a home enthusiast; I wish I could be that person!

[h=1]It’s Shiny: 1972 Dodge Charger[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/left-front-3-e1466916185470-630x355.jpg
This shiny blue Charger was found in Norco, California by the folks at flat twelve gallery in Dallas, Texas. This is what happens when a flipper gets to a car first. They’ve listed it on eBay. Bidding is at $7,200 with 6 days left and the reserve not met. I’m sure they are asking silly money for it and it’s not that great a car. It’s a 318, 2 barrel automatic bench seat car. They have made it look nice, though, like it might have looked in the 1970s.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/front-inside-630x419.jpg
The interior cleaned up nice. The seat covers look something like the original covers, but are likely the inexpensive covers available everywhere online. The dash pad must be covering the cracks in the dash.

Their detail folks have been busy under here. If only it runs as good as it looks.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/top-1-630x419.jpg
The vinyl top looks good, but is it lifting on the rear edge?
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/under-4-630x419.jpg
It sure looks nice under here, but could that undercoating be hiding rust?
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/right-rear-3-630x419.jpg
It looks pretty nice from back here as well. I would love to believe this really is a nice, original car that someone took good care of, but the paint looks too fresh and the seat covers are too new. I wonder what this really looked like when it was hauled out of the barn. How much do you think someone will be willing to pay for this Charger? If there’s not too much bondo under the paint and it could be purchased for a reasonable price, it could be a nice driver. The wheels might need to go, though. It will be interesting to see your comments.

63 Split Window , Cool !
[h=1]1963 Corvette Split Window Barn Find[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1963-Corvette-Coupe-630x354.jpg
We’ve found a surprising number of Corvette split window coupes over the years, but we get excited every time one of these American classics is found in a barn! This one has been parked for 30 or so years and looks to be in fantastic condition. It’s a very well optioned car, with A/C, a 4 speed, and power windows. The seller claims there were just 268 cars built to these specs and I doubt many of those have survived with just 25k miles! I know I would love to have this one parked in my barn, but how about you? You can find this Corvette here on eBay in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts with bidding already to $16k. The seller hasn’t tried to start it yet and if you’d like to have the pleasure of getting it running, you better contact them before they try to get it running!

The Real Deal !

[h=1]Cop Components: 1989 Ford Mustang SSP[/h]
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/trooper1-e1467001981758-630x357.jpg

The Ford Mustang Fox Body notchback remains one of my favorite muscle car designs ever to roll out of the showroom. Combine that with the rarely seen police model known as the Special Service Package like this example here on eBay and I’m just about ready to take out a loan for a project car I don’t need. Featuring heavy-duty components and a stripped down interior, these police pursuit vehicles were meant to outgun the criminals, an assignment they rarely failed to accomplish.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/trooper3-e1467002029729-630x422.jpg

The interior on this ex-Florida Highway Patrol car remains in excellent condition, which the seller says presents as-new. Roll down windows and a manual transmission – when is the last time you saw that in a police car? The option to row your gears yourself wasn’t always ideal for a police vehicle, however, as officers needed to handle other duties like operating a two-way radio. With the primary goal being to equip police departments with a faster vehicle than what was offered in sedan form at the time, the Mustang with either a stick or automatic was a huge improvement. Simple and to the point, the Mustang police package was short on creature comforts but big on performance.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/trooper4-e1467002047599-630x422.jpg

States including Florida, California and New York all had SSPs in their fleet. I can remember the New York State Troopers having the Mustang and the Camaro employed as their high-speed pursuit vehicles, and they looked absolutely killer decked out in the blue and gold livery of the Empire State. The police editions also featured black powdercoated factory 10-hole wheels, an engine oil cooler and a reinforced front floor pan, among other HD upgrades. This SSP Mustang has 135,000 miles on the clock, and the seller has kept it stock in appearance while adding some sensible upgrades under the hood and to the chassis. The engine was also rebuilt approximately 10,000 miles ago.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/trooper2-e1467002075701-630x419.jpg

The paint still shines well and the seller’s efforts to keep the Mustang looking stock while adding more power and beefing up the suspension are executed extremely well. The rear wheels have even been widened slightly to enhance the Mustang’s aggressive stance. The only thing I would change would be the smoked, aftermarket headlights, which just aren’t my thing. The Mustang SSP has not met its reserve, but bidding is already over $5,000. The car is located in Orlando, Florida, so it hasn’t traveled too far since its time spent tracking down bad guys in the Sunshine State. Have you ever been pulled over by a high-octane police vehicle like this?

[h=1]Lien Sale Score: 1979 Porsche 928[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/928-a-e1467002445441.jpg
I’ve often thought it would be exciting to buy the rights to a storage unit’s contents without knowing what was inside. Sure, it’s a risk – but if it doesn’t cost you too much, it’s a safer bet than heading to the casino. The seller of this 1979 Porsche 928 here on craigslist scored this V8-powered P-Car in a lien sale, and although dusty, dirty and not running, he snared a fairly desirable example – possibly by accident.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/upl...6rd0eaiU2_1200x900-e1467001038931-630x516.jpg
00i0i_gf6rd0eaiU2_1200x900-e1467001038931-630x516.jpg
That is an impressive amount of dust! The 928’s are grand tourers, so while the automatic is acceptable, it’s nice to see this long-stored example has a manual transmission. The later Porsche alloy wheels are a bonus and may indicate enthusiast ownership at one point in time. The seller claims there are some service records with the car, which is better than I’d expect for a forlorn example like this.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/00e0e_kxPoLMqnL6P_1200x900-e1467001091155-630x600.jpg
Here’s where things get interesting: this 928 is equipped with the extremely desirable and rare “Pasha” checkerboard-style interior seating surfaces. Porsche fanatics find this interior fabric combination hard to resist, and finding a 928 that has its original Pascha cloth still intact will certainly help the seller get his low $1,900 asking price. Overall, things look tired inside but not beyond saving. It looks to even have its original radio.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/01010_btqwlTH2nqF_1200x900-e1467001111801-630x584.jpg
Here’s the backseat, where the Pascha cloth continues to the rear buckets. The top of the seats may be split from sun damage, but the all-important seating surfaces remain in good condition (albeit in need of a good cleaning). If you’re a California buyer, you’ll have to contend with close to $800 in back fees; if you’re not in CA, no problem. The seller’s very reasonable asking price for a non-running but nicely-equipped 928 should help this one sell quickly.

[h=1]Royal Ram: 1984 Dodge Ramcharger Prospector[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062616-Barn-Finds-1984-Dodge-Ramcharger-Royal-SE-1-630x473.jpg
This 1984 Dodge Ramcharger Prospector is on eBay with a current bid of just over $5,100 and there are eight days left on the auction. It’s in Meridian, Idaho, just west of beautiful Boise.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062616-Barn-Finds-1984-Dodge-Ramcharger-Royal-SE-2-630x473.jpg
This truck is loaded with names, it’s a Dodge Ramcharger 150 Royal SE Prospector Edition! This is an incredible example, the seller says that it’s all original other than a portion of the seat fabric being replaced and a small accident repair on the left rear quarter. They say that the accident may be the reason that the original owner sold the truck, possibly being a bit too old to be driving anymore.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062616-Barn-Finds-1984-Dodge-Ramcharger-Royal-SE-3-630x473.jpg
This is the color you want if you’re going to have anyone try to match your paint. This truck looks as close to perfect as I’ve ever seen on a Ramcharger. I had a 1976 Ramcharger in the early-1980s and it was the worst vehicle that I’ve ever owned, but it sure didn’t look anything like this beautiful example.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062616-Barn-Finds-1984-Dodge-Ramcharger-Royal-SE-4-630x473.jpg
Wow! That’s one bright interior! But, I’m a big fan of red interiors, or any variation of red, so I like it. I’m surprised to not see power windows on a vehicle with so many names and badges and packages as this one has. It looks as perfect inside as it does outside. When these first came out, in 1974, the standard Ramcharger only included a driver’s seat, all other seating was optional! The thought was that some owners may want to use them as delivery vehicles to replace a van, and being 4WD they thought that camping/fishing/hunting enthusiasts would be snapping them up.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/062616-Barn-Finds-1984-Dodge-Ramcharger-Royal-SE-5-630x473.jpg
This one has a 5.9L 360 V8 with 175 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. I had this same engine, or a similar 360, in my ’76 Ramcharger and I got 3 mpg. Three! I realized that the choke linkage was all carboned up and after having that fixed, for $200, the mpg doubled to 6! I’m guessing that this fantastic white Ramcharger seen here gets double that mpg, maybe 12 in the city? This looks like as nice a Ramcharger as you may ever find, I wonder what this one will sell for? Have any of you had a Ramcharger or are you a Bronco or Blazer fan instead?

[h=1]Restovivor Candidate? 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/g1-630x420.jpg
At first glance, you might dismiss this 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix LJ as a bloated remnant of the Malaise Era, but I think you’d be making a mistake. It’s up for sale here on eBay with a buy it now of only $4,500 and bidding below $3,000. It’s currently parked in Washington, Pennsylvania, and is driven fairly frequently by the seller.

image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/g3-630x420.jpg
I happen to really like the lines on this vintage of the Grand Prix, much more so than the similar Chevrolet Monte Carlo. According to the seller, the only rust hole is in the passenger side door although there are plenty of bubbles and small corrosion spots. Of course, being up north means it got exposed to salt, so even if the 42,500 miles showing are genuine it’s not really a surprise that there’s some rust.
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/g4-630x420.jpg
Here’s an example of what one of the quarter panels looks like. I suppose you can go for localized small repairs, but I think I’d want to start from that body crease down and put new metal in. I know it would be nice to try to save the original paint, but I don’t think I would in this case, especially considering the issue at the rear of the vinyl top where it meets the body at the base of the window. I do appreciate the clear pictures of these areas–thanks, seller!
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/g5-630x420.jpg
One of the places these big coupes shine is the interior, and this one is no exception. I love the round motifs on the dash (not just the gauges, but vents, etc.) and the cool center console. The dash really looks nice as well; this may really be a low mileage car after all. There’s a little wear on the driver’s seat, but I think some sympathetic dying and spot touch up would work; if not perhaps you could take the cover off and just have that panel replaced?
image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/g7-630x420.jpg
There’s a lot of dirt and surface rust under here, but I’m pleased to see a belt on the air conditioner and the general stock appearance. The 400 cubic inch V8 is thought to be original (given the mileage it should be) and I know from experience is plenty of power, even for this heavy car. With a full set of options, including a factory power sunroof, those beautiful snowflake wheels and many other options that are documented by the PHS report, I think this car is just begging to become a restovivor! Do you agree with me?

[h=1]One Owner 1968 Pontiac GTO[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1968-Pontiac-GTO-e1466994008344-630x354.jpg
This Goat might be a bit rough, but it’s all original and still owned by the original owner! At 70, the owner just can’t take on a restoration, so they want to find a new home for it. It’s powered by it’s original 400 V8 and 4 speed transmission. While it has its issues, this one looks like a fun project and whether you leave the exterior alone or perform a full restoration, you will have one sweet muscle car! Find this GTO here on eBay in Milligan College, Tennessee with a current bid of $6,500 and no reserve. So would you take on this project?

[h=1]Super Rare: 1962 Austin Mini de Lux[/h] image: http://barnfinds.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/1962-Austin-Mini-Super-de-Lux-e1466976595414-630x354.jpg
You’re probably thinking, Austin built a massive number of Minis, so how can this one be rare? Well you see, this isn’t the standard Mini that typically was seen on American roads. This one is a Super model, which was between the base Mini and the Cooper price and feature wise. It lacked the performance parts of the Cooper, but came with more options and features than the base model. Only 175 or so of these were built for American consumption and this is believed to be the only one still in existence. For a car they built millions of that, being the only one of a trim level is rather interesting. If you’d like to have the only left hand drive Mini Super in America, you can find this low mileage barn find here on eBay in Portland, Oregon.
