The best action on track in the F1 race was definitely the Mercedes teammates battle. Shame Russell had his car break. There was a bit of other action further back in the pack, Lewis put on a good show racing Verstappen. Amazed how well the Alpine team did. Things have really improved for them. McLaren will be kicking themselves after that mistake in tire selection..

Indy 500 was pretty typical. I feel bad for the rookie crashing..that was a hard hit..rang his bell pretty good I imagine.
I figured Malukas had it in the bag right up until the last 200 yards.. I'm sure he will have nightmares about that loss for awhile..
Amazing pass from Rosenqvist..That took some serious balls to pull off..

Interesting commentary on Ferrari and whether their simulator is useful!

You have to wonder about how Ferrari's managing the team the last few years. Amazed Lewis has hung with the team as long as he has.
The simulator may be another area of Ferari's failures. There have been several screw ups that should have been avoided. Tire selections, pit stop timing, etc. Perhaps Fred needs to take some lessons from Horner? ;)

Anyone watch the F2 race at Montreal? There was a lot of action out on the track, and was actually quite entertaining. Track condition, damp and cold played a role of course, but these young up and coming drivers played a role as well. I guess they all want to reach for the F1 seats.
I see Colton Herta is not doing to badly, finishing 8th in theF2 feature race, but still some question at this point if he will actually attain a seat in F1. He might need another year before Cadillac would entertain that idea.

Monaco this weekend, I know everyone says its a boring race.
I understand how hard it is to pass, especailly with cars this size,
But Its Monaco, and I love the race. as they say, the " Crown jewel"

These cars and the way the work, Monaco should have little effect,
no superclipping or lifting earl to harvest power,
Down to best handling car and best drivers,
should be fun to watch.

High risk passing at Monaco can make it interesting, but it's usually a follow the leader style of race. Qualifying, tire selection, and pit stop strategy are the main factors otherwise. Ferrari's quick acceleration with the small turbo set up may give them an advantage.

I had electric race cars years ago.
They drove around in grooves on a black plastic track. 😉

Anyway, these days this type of racing is more interesting to me than F1.

Just caught the news that Ned Jarrett has passed away at the age of 93.

Used to enjoy Ned's commentary back in the day with Buddy Baker and Benny Parsons.

93.. wow,I didn't realize he was that old. I think he spent as much time as a broadcaster as he did in racing.
Back in the early to mid 60's our family TV viewing was dependent on an antenna, so I was unable to watch much stock car racing, (or auto racing of any type for that matter). I saw him racing in later years on vintage film reruns, and he was really good. I enjoyed his participation in race commentary over the years. RIP Ned.
