2026 Motorsports Season

It was really nice to see Hamilton congratulate Kimi so warmly. Youngest driver in F1 history to win pole...so far anyways.
I think it may be a great race for spectators.
Saw this today..official now.

ya its entertaining, but when they show you onboard shot of someone using all their battery on a straight
then being passed or see they letting off early and braking and downshifting for turns,
its not real racing. its engineering racing along with battery management,
so those who have best computers and programs for regenerating, do better.

More over takes, os the spectacle is good and makes for more passing, but bit illusion
I like how close it was last year, with less destruance of air off of cars,
Less ground effects. I suspect teams will figure this out and they will get closer,
Not sure the real racing we know will ever be in this type of engine battery arrangment.

It was actually not a bad race overall as far as action on the track went. Mid pack racing was not covered very well by Sky Sports as much as I thought it deserved to be, but what was shown had some decent excitement. Lewis and Leclerc got pretty racy. It could have been a disaster, but they both know how to race well.
The difficulty's in getting these new gen cars to work well is helping what are traditionally the lesser team's results. Alpine for example, must be overjoyed with both cars finishing in the points. It helps when four cars don't start the race, three cars have to retire, and only eight cars of the fifteen still running at the end, even finished on the lead lap. I'm thinking even the Safety car may have had a chance to get points.:giggle:

Reddick is having a great season, took the win at Darlington, win #4 out of 6 races this year.

Might have played out different if it had been 500 miles instead of 400 miles thought apparently there were issues with the driver cooling suit.

Either way, even with a battery change out, he took the lead late in the race and walked away to a five second gap to second place, and has built up a 95 point lead in the standings.

Another middle of night start for F-1
Japan, FIA has made a last minute change to allow areo to stay open
in the famous 130R turn. could be interesting to see.

2 week break, who figured out what.
Will FIA look at some major changes after this weekend, with 5 week break to follow
or wiat till after Miami as original scheduled ?

Few poles have 67 to 96% of fans not likling new F-1 regulations,
with this spark changes? Popularity has never been higher,
does FIA and FOM wanna risk that?
Be interesting to see what happens over next month or so.

My concern is that the FIA will start making changes before all the teams have got the cars properly sorted out. There really hasn't been enough actual race time to do this. I'd bet things will improve for most teams over the next several races, if just left as is. How would it affect the caps on the team's budgets if the FIA messes with them?
Drivers also need more seat time as well to learn the new techniques required to be faster. I actually enjoyed seeing the challenge drivers are facing, and how they are dealing with it. It's sad when the car actually breaks down completely, but interesting to see how they learn to deal with the battery power unit during the race.

Did you see the rumors that Horner may join the Audi team? I'd like to see him back. He's a very smart F1 man, and would benefit any team that doesn't have Jos Verstappen in the wings.. :)

Mario kart racing…
I’m one of the 96%.
It’s not racing, it’s technology management.
I have no interest whatsoever.

I’m very impressed by the Australian super cars.
WEC also pretty cool, same with Nascar on any road course.
Cool to watch SVG wheel around.
