1986 Foxbody

My beloved has for some reason decided that a 86 Foxbody convertible we saw on kijji is what she'd like to cruise in. I've being told that rust has killed quite a few of them and I should look carefully at it. So here's the question: Where should I look for terminal rust?

Well there are a few people on here that come to mind that can give you more info than I can. Like Max and Jody when it comes to fox bodies. I know when I was looking years ago I was told by an expert at rhe time Lol to look at rhe wheel wells, doors and the floors as many will do patch jobs just to name a few areas.which are typical spots most of is would look anyways. Haha I am sure some will chim in with some other spots of concern. Good luck.

Check the strut towers and torque boxes for rust

IMO depending on the price, you should take a long hard look, maybe even arrange to put it on a hoist.
Much can be determined by what you see under a car. Also under carpet in trunk, etc.
2 horses in the stable cool. Wife said I could do same, she did say I need a bigger garage.

Like Trevor mentioned, trunk is a problem area (or so I hear). Can't remember who told me that but it was someone that had a Fox and informed me when I last looked at a couple of them.
