What did you do to your mustang today

What oh what did I do !.. Well looks like I destroyed my transmission ? does that count for what did I did to my mustang today !.
rear gears went in last week and everything was fine a few days ago the old automatic starts slipping into 4th now it really only drives when I go through 1, 2, 3 and hopes I don't need to go any faster ..is this just a coincidence?
Brought it to the transmission shop and fluid smells burned . They are doing a rebuild starting on Tuesday.
I told them I need this back Thursday at the absolute latest for the dyno run next week .. There goes some summer fun into a new transmission, but at least I'll be driving it

Sorry to hear that for you.
I think it is just coincidence. I had upgraded gears in my 05 Automatic and never had issues. Even took that car to HPDE's a couple times and it pulled like a freight train. Guy who did gears even thought I had a shift kit in it but did not. I don't think one is the cause of the other.
It's mechanics. Drive stuff hard enough, long enough, and stuff happens.

Insurance went on Saturday morning at midnight.
Took cover off yesterday.
Topped up battery today.
Going in for airbag recall and a bit more negative camber tomorrow at dealership.

Ok, so transmission is all torn apart and 4th gear is toast, and the solenoid pack is not functioning properly. .torque converter was sent out for rebuild as there was none in stock to buy, I'm told it should be all back together Thursday ?..
just crap luck I guess , the guys at the shop said the solenoid pack may have contributed to the burned gear..
Super excited about getting to Pete's on Friday, been reading online reviews and has me pumped :FordSmile

Besides the bag of money?

I found this in a post and was wondering if it would be a good idea to get these parts at a junkyard instead of buying the conversion kit from MustangParts. Lonegunman listed this:

Transmission
Manual Transmission Wiring Harness or rewire
Clutch Lever Pivot
Clutch Fork
Release Bearing
Pilot Bearing
Flywheel
Clutch & Pressure Plate
Pressure Plate Bolts
Flywheel Bolts
Driveshaft
Driveshaft Flange Bolt
Shifter w/bolts
Shifter Handle w/bolts
Shift Knob
Shift Boot
Lower Shift Boot w/bolts
Pedal Assembly
Clutch Quadrant
Firewall Adjuster

Its a lot of work, I have helped a few people do it over the years.
If your not exceptionally handy or know someone who is, the labour would be outrageous
for this conversion. Would be likely easier and maybe even cheaper to buy
another car and sell the auto, if thats where you really wanna be.

I've changed my share of transmissions (one outside in the middle of winter) but I agree this is a major job for the payoff.I forgot about the electronic side.Just find the auto clunky and a little boring.
