Lost use of strut tower brace because of going from this setup

Intake manifold too high for GT brace. Boss brace clears manifold easily but won't allow hood to close. Need hood with higher clearance.

Since my hood already aftermarket and next one will be carbon fiber. Not ready for that yet.

Decided to brace elsewhere on the chassis.

Got this brace that ties rear shock towers together with bulkhead behind back seat.
Similar idea to Ford Laguna Seca brace, which they no longer make, and for fraction of cost.

Will put car on diet too by removing radio and all speakers as well as windshield washer reservoir and spare tire/jack.
I have not listened to music in past five years. I listen to engine/exhaust note and wind instead.
AC removed two years ago.
Have to put music too loud to hear. It just becomes noise.

Have never used windshield washer on that car. It streaks on the roof and such.
Dealership keeps filling it if I'm not there to tell tech not to.
I learned that a gallon of washer weighs about ten (10) pounds.
So that's a good dozen pounds removed off front of the car.

Will also dial in a bit more negative camber.
Aiming for negative 1.5 degrees each side. Good use of Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates.

Track day booked for Mont-Tremblant on June 11th.

I think you will see a noticeable improvement,
The weight loss alone will make a big difference.
Sounds great Mont Tremblant is on my wish list.
 
Ordered some Motul Dot #4 synthetic fluid today.
Will also replace brake fluid before track day.
My rotors and pads still in good shape.
 
Quiet night in “Dad’s Garage” just an oil change / front end lube for my car . Now ready for the road again. Had someone drop by to road test the windscreen before actually buying one and a minor adjustment.
 
Windscreens work quite well Gerry, not like driving with the roof up or even close but it still makes a good difference and the sound system also comes out way better with it. I would definitely get another one if something was to happen to this one.
 
Picked up car from Downey's this afternoon with the new 3.73's ..
I'm a happy guy . Install is pricey . But im liking them ?..

If it's not up to expectations, take the roof completely off and make it a roadster Roger.
A lot of weight saved that way.
