Finally got around to separating the clutch fluid from the brake fluid. Also installed new brake pads all around. They were getting pretty thin. Love changing the front pads, Brembo's make for an easy swap. Nut and bolt after last track session. Lower ball joint found not bottomed in the control arm. Removed control arm and pressed ball joint back into position.
After the dyno trip I knew I had a few electrical gremlins to get sorted out. That's still in the works, but today I pulled out the car and did a bit of research and testing.
Grant steering wheel and hub installed (no quick release... in hindsight, wish I got the quick release.)
Inspected wiring coming out of Speed Sensor. This appears to be a cheap blue "wire splicer" that I've heard lots of bad stories about. I am hoping that I can re-wire this and get my speedometer back up and running!
And finally, I heated up and removed the black "MUSTANG GT" lettering along the skirts and rear bumper of the car. It's not that I minded the black text, but the stickers had moved/stretched/shrunk over the years and they didn't look great. I need to follow up with some goo-hone to get rid of the leftover residue.
I'm not planning to mount the wheels this summer. I am currently thinking of getting an 03-04 cobra hood, cobra rear bumper to accompany my cobra rear wing that I already have and then doing paint/wheels up for next spring?
Like the new steering wheel.
Still not 100% on the wheels,
The ones you have look good with current paint.
Getting those electrical gremlins sorted out will
be good, easier on the head when driving.
Like how much fuel and how fast your going
it's one of the worst feelings ever I hit a train track with my BMW last spring and it nearly pulled the entire bumper off after taking a chunk out of my front lip!
I hit a big porcupine with my 08 and got off lucky, broke the centre lower grill
about 80 bucks.
I hit a smaller dead one with 350 and sliced it in half and had blood on spoiler but no damage LOL
Well the Stang was part of her first Wedding yesterday. The wife picked up the Bride and Groom and took them for a drive around town. Then dropped them off for their pictures. A little cozy back there but that is what they wanted and enjoyed it. Glad we were able to be part of their special day.
Thought it was time to do the first rotation ( not first spin!) of the tires installed this spring . Was planning to do it about 5000km, it seems there has been almost 9000
km since May - oops. Might as well get something done this rainy night
