I've seen that happen before. One day I sat at a crosswalk waiting for a massive buck to cross the street. Vancouver Island blacktail deer are generally quite small antler wise, but this would have been a real trophy buck. Guess he knew he was safe in a residential neighborhood.
Actually in Dartmouth at Sullivans pond, geese and ducks live here in abundance and are even taken care of by city
in winter, with mini homes on islands for them, running water in pond so it won't freeze etc.
they cross the road on a regular basis and ironically
alwyas use one specific crosswalk, all locals know this and keep and eye out.
I have on different occasions, waited for them to cross and its not 1 or 2 so, somethimes can take a bit :)

Last year one got run over and folks wnated the guy tared and feathered
big outrage.
