FP1 and 2 are rarely true indicators of where folks are.
I suspect towards end of FP3 and then Qualifying we will see the true numbers
But looks like Maclarens has the measure of the field.
at least this track has passing opportunities

Saudi Arabian, this weekend.

Yes, the Bahrain race really became interesting after the safety car came out. Piastri had a huge lead up till that point, and I seriously wondered if he could stay in front. I'm happy for him that he did. In some ways it was a bit like back when Max had a massive lead advantage in race after race, and the camera's rarely showed his car, because the real racing was all going on behind him.

Overall I really enjoyed the race weekend. Antonelli is clearly the star of the rookies so far, although Hadjar does have a lot of potential. The other rookies may have some disadvantages, because of the car they're in, so their full potential may not be quite so obvious. I imagine Max must be fuming, as he was becoming used to always being at the front. He blames the car of course. Some rumors by the pundits regarding his frustrations, and if he may jump ship to get in a faster car. Seems a bit far-fetched to me, but you never know when it comes to a persons ego.
George drove a great race, and it's unfortunate he was penalized, but rules are rules. You'd think he would know exactly what button on the wheel to push, so it was really his own fault. It may have been caused by the added confusion from the wheel's electrical glitch. Not something a person needs when trying to drive during a race.

I also think Doohan is doing quite well, making it hard for dick head to fire him

Russell actually never got a penalty for pushing DRS button, his steering wheel with all the controls was not working
he had pushed the oush to talk button, wing opened, he closed it and backed off, so lost a bit of time, henase No penalty.

Norris had an intersting race, fast but bad Q3 and made some mistakes so 3rd was good result.

Hamilton who was faster in q@ than Q3 started 9th, finshied 5th said he is starting to understand cars,
I did not realize they run Brembos, he ran Carbon Industry brakes his whole career and the work totally different.
Question is, can he get is Qualifying effort better, because making up 3-5 spots a GP at the front is hard to do
every race.

Max, I don't think is going anywhere next year, with all the changes, who is going to get it right?
he could jump ship and pick a worse car, now if Red bull is bad in 2026 he might jump to better team.

Bahrain was test rack, so all teams had good data, that goes away next week, so lets see where we end up this weekend
with driver changes and 5 rookies, maes it interesting for sure.

Definitely an interesting race with a big mix of strategies which kept it interesting!
