West Coast Vacation?

Welcome to the Pacific Coast, Marc!
For someone interested in cars, you couldn't have planned a better time to visit Victoria. Picture perfect weather too. Hope you enjoy your stay.

If you're touring around the Island you may enjoy visiting Parksville's sand sculpture display at the Canadian National Sand Sculpting Competition, which is part of the annual summer long Parksville Beach Festival. International artists compete for prizes, and the winners qualify to move on to the World Championship Sand Sculpting competition, so the sand sculptures are always very impressive. Lot's of other things to see or do in the Parksville and Qualicum Beach area. That's partly why we moved here twenty years ago.

You can check out Cathedral Grove Park with it's massive 800-1000 year old trees, on the way to the West Coast's world famous Longbeach, and the Pacific Rim National Reserve, near Tofino.

Yah thanks.
We hit cathedral grove on way up to Comox yesterday.
Drove by Coombs. Didn’t stop.
Went through Qualicum after.
Didn’t drive down by beach through Parksville.
Headed up towards Coombs instead.
Missed the sculptures.
Some other time maybe.
I’m still happy I saw the cars in Victoria.

Sounds like a great trip. Coombs is a story unto itself eh..lol You check out the goats on the roof?

You were right in my neighborhood. Too bad we didn't meet up for a coffee. You could have checked out my Cobra.

Some interesting stats from the Victoria event.. Looks like 1932 was a popular year..Ford's especially...

Yes, saw the goats on the roof.

I thought of reaching out but I was with my son and we did a road trip through southern interior, Okanagan and Duffy lake. We covered a lot of ground in a short period.
We wanted to get to Comox sooner rather than later that day to take a break.
Seems we hit every red light on the way up from Victoria.

But now that the invitation has been put out, I’ll keep in mind for my next trip.
My in-laws are in Comox, so I’ll surely return.

In fact, Deuce days was such a blast that I might come out for next iteration in 3 years.
Stay on island the whole time next time.

Cheers.
