Tech help

I started this thread, maybe some of the more experienced people can share some of abilities they
have gathered over the years. TO help those of us who are technically challenged :)
I am in the 2nd group LOL

I have a difficult time loaded you tube videos, seems they take hours.
I have different issues with all my tech toys. I suspect I am not alone.

Hopefully those with knowledge can share, keep in mind you might have to type slower
for some of us :)

I have a hard time loading videos for mac to you tube. I have I-movies, which I can't figure out
and quick time player, which were both on computer. they take 2-3 hours or longer to load 10 minute video.
Helimech even came over and we couldn't make it faster.
Is there an easier way? A better program to use?

HELP

Not sure if there is anything you can do about the conversion time on your macbook. If it is an older machine and you are exporting to HD video, it's all about processing power (think horsepower). So if you don't have a high-end quad-core CPU, or it's an older macbook, it's just going to take longer.

I read one site that covered uploading videos from your PC to YouTube, that it may take quite a bit of time depending mainly on the size of the video, and how fast your internet speed is. I imagine if your using WI-FI for a laptop, that would be more sluggish.

What speed is your internet service? I have Shaw 150 now, as part of a free upgrade they did to keep my business, but when I do a speed test on my laptop, it's frigging slow as molasses. On a good day I might get 12 MPS..

One thing I read..." On a bad broadband day, the upload may take as long as 3 minutes per megabyte."

I got one of those boxes for TV, free movies tv shows etc.
Ya well it looks cool, but I can't make it work LOL
I got the wifi working, figured out how to get around,
but can't get any shows or movies arrrrgggg.

They say technology today it plug and play, I want to know
who are they?

Nothing is that simple..look at the size of the instruction book that comes with devices these days. It's getting worse not better,,lol

So it's a Wi-Fi portal that turns your TV into a monitor?
I think you need to have Netflix, or perhaps use you-tube, or another streaming web site. Once you have the show running on your lap-top you should be able to send the signal to your TV box.
You probably need to first set your TV's input, to the "source" that the box is set up as, which is usually determined by the plugs on your TV that you connected it to.. AV1, AV2, etc.

This box, has it all inside, so no need for PC.
It actually is a PC, I got help and loaded on program so far, called
Exodus, Which runs on platform called Kodi. which gives you movies and tv shows.
Already and app for google, you-tube and netflix built in.
Slowly learning how to use it, but in some cases you get movies that are still in theatres.

It has about 25 other apps, I have not been able to figure out, slow learner LOL.

those boxes are great once you get to know them, ive had one for a year now and theres nothing i cant watch. download a good build ( no limits ) and spend some time on it, PM me if you want a tutorial.

thanks, I might do that, at the moment i only watch movies on it.
but it can do so much more.

Not nessasarly tech help, more like TV help.
I currently am with east link, phone, fax cable and internet.
They keep changes things, best I can tell charging more getting less.

Bell keeps banging at my door trying to get me to switch.
What are you guys using? who do you find the best?

I'm with bell fiber op , nice fast Internet. I wanted only fiber op but they would have charged me more than a a package. So I now have home phone, ( never used or even plugged one into a jack ) TV, ( so very seldom use, use more )

I'm with Bell. No issues except they charge an arm and a leg. Had them reduce my bill this year for the first time lol.

The wife works from home two days a week and we had issue with the internet. She called and explained, someone was out to fix it two hours later. They ended up replacing almost everything in the house....modem, main box, line to the house and even gave me a wireless tv box for no charge :)

I'm with Bell Fibre Op as well and it's been great so far. Internet is fast and the TV features are awesome, especially the wireless boxes and the PVR which you can access from all other boxes around the house. Don't know what I'll do once the 3 year package is up as by what I've been hearing the price just sky rockets after that ??

I just renewed with Bell and the price was due to go up massively, so I phoned up and threatened to move to Rogers, ended up getting another 2 years for only a little more than I was currently paying.

having problems loading pics from my phone to computer.
not sure why, but I wanted to share some of the vegas pics arrrg.

if you have an android phone, then you can go on your PC at home and just log into google photos and all your pics are there.
