In the early years Shelby American put the Shelby package on the cars, with them all parked side by side in the shop. Later model years had them being built on this makeshift assembly line.

The first cars were built in Shelby Americans original Venice California location, Apparently they were only there for only around 90 days, before moving to the the much larger airplane hangers at LAX.

The pair of leased hangers at LAX that Shelby American moved production of the Mustang to as it quickly outgrew the Venice shop.

Shelby, as if there wasn't enough on his plate, engineered a Ford 260 V8 into a Sunbeam sports car, which actually worked quite well together. Like he had done with the AC Cars Ace, to the Cobra conversion, he proposed that they should be shipped to Shelby’s shop in California, for conversion to the Tiger.
The Rootes Group declined. Instead Jensen Motors was awarded the contract for assembling the cars and Shelby was paid a royalty for every Tiger sold. Imagine there could have been a "Shelby Tiger"

The Cobra, Mustang, and GT40 racing team cars were all worked on under one roof. Some of the Mustang R models became Trans-Am cars.
