05 Ford GT's typically go for $450,000 to $650,000
depending on a few specs,
has to be something rare to hit million in that model year.

I was lucky enough to see one of the twelve original 1960's Ford GT MK4's at the Monterey Historic's event. The first non-Lola built body of the GT models, the MK4 was created inhouse by Ford. By adding several aerodynamic aspects to it, and the honeycomb aluminum frame, some felt it had strayed to far from the original GT40's,
I think it is still an amazing looking race car. Might only be ten of these left in the world today.
The yellow one won the 1967 Sebring 12 hour race driven by Bruce McLaren, and Mario Andretti. This red one winning the 1967 LeMan's race, driven by AJ Foyt and Dan Gurney, it finished 32 miles ahead of the second place car, a Ferrari.
In 1967, Ford’s dominant Mark IV relied on a massive 7 liter, 427ci engine.. Just days after it won the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans, the FIA announced new regulations for the 1968 Group 6 prototype class limiting the engine size to 3 liters. Some still believe Ferrari was behind this change.
