I have a 4amp battery tender and never had any problem. It is hard on a battery even an alternator to leave the battery low and counting only on the alternator to recharge it.

Less then 2 weeks left. She will spend the long winter in my unheated attached garage, hooked to a 4 amp battery tender.Gas tank filled all the way up, Oil will be change in the spring. Usually I start her up at least every month and let her run until normal temp. This will be my winter toy...

The best way to avoid them is to keep the traffic behind you...hahaha I used to have a lots of them on my vehicle until I learned to keep my distance with the one in front of me. Specially the one with 35' with no mud flap...LOL
