Yeah I am sure it won’t hurt anything, I am surprised I didn’t catch it when I installed them, I thought I checked the clearance over pretty good, but I guess not lol

What did you do to your mustang today

So three weeks and two washes later, zero sling, the gloss is gone but they still have a nice matte sheen to them. This picture was just before the cruise in Wednesday evening.

So I have had a strange noise coming from the drivers front end , started shortly after I installed the headers. Turn out my steering shaft was rubbing against the headers. Pretty sure I had checked the clearance on it when I installed them, but maybe not lol. Took it for a little spin afterward...

It's actually dry to the touch, the talking heads say it does not sling as long as you let it cure properly. 2 hours after application.

What did you do to your mustang today

Played around in the garage a little bit today. Bought a bottle of CarPro Darkside it’s a tire sealant instead of a dressing claims it will last up to 12 weeks. Watched a few YouTube videos on it before I tried it, a couple said to use a solvent and clean the tire before so I tried it. Washed...

The reason I didn’t put a CAI on is because I will most likely be going boosted in the future, but once vet once I guess. The long tubes fell into my lap on a good deal last fall, so they came first, and if you are going to tear the exhaust apart to do the headers, might as well do a cat back at...

As far as tuning goes, I did email a reputable US tuner and they said for just headers and exhaust it does not require a tune. The computer will adjust on its own. Unless you change the intake and put a CAI on. Then it needs to be tuned for the different diameter piping on the intake.

The plate is just the rear mount for the chassis braces that are on convertibles.

So today took it for a little rip. And in typical aftermarket header fashion , the check engine light is on with the cat efficiency code. Time to order defoulers for the O2 sensors I guess.

There is a little rust on the chipped paint on the chassis braces, but as far as I know it has never seen salt . Still only has 37k on it and it’s 7 years old.

There used to be a company in the US that made billet aluminum ones but I can’t find them anymore. What I will probably end up doing is denting the pipe a little like you do for header clearance.

And another couple hours in the garage and she is officially done and ready for summer. Getting the 3” exhaust on there was not too bad actually. If you zoom in on the picture you can see I just stacked washers to make up the needed room. And yes I used longer bolts as well!

Don’t need to tune for long tube headers. But if you are looking for someone local BLP automotive I’m Moncton does tuning locally.
