Machines and I always have gotten along. People are a different story. I can understand a machine. People? Almost always a complete mystery to me. I'm the guy you can put a bucket of parts in front of and whatever it is I'll put it together and it will work. Then I'll take it apart again and...

Yep. Not much left of the original car that I haven't cut, chopped, welded, ripped out or changed. Half a floor pan and some sheet metal around the rear seat/hatch area. Ultimately, the goal is to have something that looks like Ford could have built it that way. That's a lot of the reason for...

Rear bumper is cut, at least to the basic shape: Not bad, not bad at all! Need a little refining and to have the little lip/roll bonded back on the bottom edge (for strength). its touching the tail pipes, but its also sagging a bit since i only have it on loosely. I'll probably still have...

Started doing the rear bumper today. Pulled the 83 off and slipped on the 87 gt. My magnaflow pipes would need a hole cut in the bumper. I'm not really feeling that look. A cobra bumper would be the easy answer, but I can't find anyone that will ship it cross border, or sell one and ship it at...

Installed the starter, finished the clutch install and torqied down a bunch of stuff i had in loose up until now. I may start the wiring tomorrow and soon could be attempting a fire up. :)

pics. You can see here how it drops too low over the panhard bar bracket: And what had to be done to it to get it to fit: Where it needs to go: :)

Slept on it and have a new plan. I'm going to order some pre-bent 2 1/2 exhaust pipe: and reroute the piece over the panhard bar bracket. Basically, I'm going to chop it off just above the bracket, weld on a 90, then another 90 to point it back down again and a third 90 to rejoin the rest...

Passenger tail pipe is in. But it ain't pretty. I had to cut the top of the over axle bend and add an inch. Then, at the bottom of the over axle piece where it makes a 90 and heads rearward, I had to beat it in to clear the panhard rod frame bracket. It's nearly half diameter. Oh well, it's...

Driver side tailpipe is in. Luckily, it did not require modification. But the pipes are barely engaged at the slip joints and could have used about another inch (maybe two) of length in the mid pipe. Since the H-pipe is already cut up, i may take it back down and add an inch or two to that...

Since photobucket is dead to free hosting, I'll give supermotors a try: Thats h-pipe and mufflers in. The h-pipe was a bbk before i had to cut the crap out of it to make it work. The mufflers are magnaflow. I dropped the fuel tank (to make it easier to work on the tail pipes) and found it...

H- pipe is done, mufflers are hung. Next is the fight to get the tailpipes in and around the panhard bar chassis mount. More chopping and welding to come no doubt....

    1983 GL, project: Cheap Thrills

After several hours of chopping welding and fitting, the crap BBK H- pipe now actually fits. Drivers side was the worst. I had to make so many cuts to make it fit the headers and come out where it needed to end that it would have been more weld than pipe. After I had it fit, I was able to...

Well, this H pipe debacle has been ticking me off since I started yesterday and it was actually bothering me so much it set off a bout of depression. So I'm siting here thinking about that damned H pipe, how much it's bumming me out, and how I can make it work and I've come to the decision: I...

well, here's some info for ya: Got a fox? considering BBK longtubes? PLus a BBK H pipe? Don't. They fit together in a fox like crap. I had to tweak the headers pretty good to fit and clear the under-hood parts and they still don't end up underneath where they need to be. The H pipe is too...

So, photo bucket is pretty much dead so the pic links are also dead. Probably means no more pics in my thread either. Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. So I pulled the pinion flange off and was ready to swap in the mustang 8.8 pinion flange. Sure enough, different spline diameter so...

G-d m-fin' sob! went to put the driveshaft in today. The f'n drive flange on the 31 spline trac lock must be the one from the explorer because the bolt hole spread is larger than the mustarg unjoint flange! grrrrrrrr............
