2026 Motorsports Season

Great finish to the xFinity race, Zilisch pounced on the overdrive into the corner by Love.

Made up a lot of ground in the closing five laps, Love gave it away, but just shows Zilisch should have been champion last year.

Unfortunate incident on pit road for SVG in that race, but I'll be rooting for him in the Cup race.

Formula 1 announced today that Autumn Fisher of British Columbia will be the Wild Card entry for the Formula 1 Academy race in Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, which you can watch on YouTube.
Each race in the series brings in a local driver, native to that country for a one time opportunity.. The series adds a local driver to the grid at each race to add local interest to the show. Fisher been racing F4 in Europe (essentially the same cars as F1 Academy), and she's in the right age group, so it wad decided she was the most logical for the Canadian event.

Scotia Speed world had there first race of the season
Friday night racing, always starts on a Sat. Afternoon,
( it can be chilly out by airport)
perfect day, sunny 22 with a bit of wind,
Was nice to get out.

2 weeks away from my first race of the year :)

Indy 500 qualifying today after a rain delay Saturday.
They are going to do a practice beforehand, as the track conditions would have changed after the soaking and attempt at drying it. Some fast speeds shown at the previous practice.

Kyle Busch 41 Nascar driver, Family announces his death, no cause yet reported.

Little strange, as it was announced this morning he was admitted to hospital with serious illness,
and would miss Charlotte's events this weekend.

At end of Watkins Glen race last weekend he radioed his team to have a doctor handy to give him a “shot”.
He was battling a serious sinus infection.

It would be tough to pick only one or two highlight reel moments from his career.....

Nerfing Ron Hornadays truck into the wall, " I'm just here so I don't get fined" , and "Had a great car, can't wait to get to Phoenix next week" are among some of the good ones among a large number of clips.

Seems odd when he dominates the truck race and takes the win at Dover, and then he's gone.

I'm especially sad for Kyle's wife and young family.
I wasn't impressed with some of the moves Kyle made over the years to pass a car, or to win a race. They may have been Ok moves for a small oval dirt track, but some were pretty darn dangerous on high speed tracks. He wrecked a lot of people, and when he caught flack for it from the fans and press, he grew quite arrogant, and just thumbed his nose at them. Kurt had more class. End of the Bush family NASCAR era, for now at least. Not sure if either of them may have children that plan on getting involve in the sport sometime in the future.

Kyle has an 11 or 12 year old son that is already immersed in racing and well on his way to being a pro.
Named Brexton.

One of the Nascar networks did a feature on him last year.

He interviewed like a pro. Raving suit on, acknowledging sponsors and all.

Some drama in sprint race, with russell pushing kimi off track in turn one
Hamilton hit the wall of champions, styed in race but lost two spots.
relatively close race

Qaulifying at 5 I think for tomorrows race, which they are saying might rain,
that would make it interesting in Montreal.
