King of the road trip
Back in 2017, we were travelling back from the Woodward Dream Cruise and crossing upper New York State. We needed a break and saw a sign for a country store, so took the exit into a pretty little village, Angelica, NY. Lovely old houses and a nice Main Street, typical small town America.
We noticed a nice car parked on the grass verge, but thought nothing more of it. We parked and visited the country store, had a wander round, bought some things and exited. At this point we noticed that a few more cars had appeared and Main Street had now been blocked off…… it turned out that this was their monthly cruise in and we were parked in the middle of it in our mustang. So of course, we cleaned up the car and registered. Amazing array of vehicles, about a hundred or so, many great rides. Very friendly people that made us feel very welcome. We even got an award for the longest travel to attend!
Fast forward 5 years……. We are travelling back from Detroit again and we check the web and guess what it just happens to be the night of their last monthly cruise of the season as we pass through. It must be fate! So of course we have to attend again. They remembered us from 5 years ago and were very pleased that we came back, we again got the award for furthest travelled and the local monthly paper is doing an article on our return!
