Thought of the day.

Possibly something in the valve train.Maybe broken rocker arm.Not sure yet.Hopefully the motor is saveable.Been getting mechanics saying minor repair to full rebuild. Will find out next week.
When I burned a Piston in my 01 I ended up going with a replacement engine from an 03 with 1/3 the mileage, but when all was said and done including the $900 for the engine, Labour, some additional parts it was a $3,000 job.

So Fingers crossed it’s minor, cause a rebuild would be costly.

Mine came from an 03 Grand Marquis

$900 with only 70,000 kilometers or 40,000 miles Original Engine had 125,000 Miles

Everything Bullitt Specific, Intake, Twin Throttle Bodies, Exhaust Manifolds, Underdrive Pullies, Right down to the Dip Stick was Transferred to Donor Engine and She Works Great ? F021D73E-13D6-424C-9565-0F801BC5576E.jpeg

It would be easy to spot if you pulled the valve covers off. It could just be the rocker arm stud. They have been known to break on occasion. AFR studs have had a reputation for letting go. If that's it, the rocker will be just laying there.
