Have you had any any insurance issues?
My daughter who has 5.5 years clean record had her insurance canceled by Insurance company becuase she did not have 6 years. The comany Aviva apparenty had some losses and decided to not carry anyone with less than 6 years.

My daughters started out with TD insurance. Was cheap and easy to get. Both have friends who did the same who made claims in that first 6 year timeframe and got canceled. Made it difficult with a blemish on the driving record to get other coverage. Both are now with Cooperators. It's not always the affordability to watch but how clients are treated when the policy is needed. Insurance companies have two different rooms of staff... one that sells policies and another with lawyers who work to avoid paying out, it seems!

I switched my commercial and private stuff last year.
Commercial with cooperators ( soveirgn ) my personal
to ALL- state, which on personal was better pricing and better coverage.

Everyones insurance is going or so I was told, was told to me, because of snow
and liability issues, so they are collecting now for what might happen.
Also been told Atlantic canada has the worse Gov, regulations.

There was a time long ago when there was some loyalty with your agent. But seems not the case now. It's a matter of will they cover you when you need them. Often a first reaction for small claims is to pay out of pocket, god forbid the insurance rates will go up. Or after a claim or two you are out the door, knocking at the facility door.

Everybody talks about rates and shopping around. A few years back, I had a pipe fail and a fairly significant flood. Wasn't satisfied by the response from the after hours call center so called the agent on his cell to explain what I was up against.....45 min later had him an adjuster and restoration guy at the door. That's paying for service!

your right, but I could tell you same stories and a few that make you go hmmmmm
how do you know what your going to get. Trust me your agent has very little say
over results.

I did learn that if you want your agent to have some say, they have to an agent of the same company the insures you.
if they are a broker, once it gets to claims, they have nothing to do with it, other than begging on your behalf.

Unfortunately last year I had to put in the first claim in my life (lost my pool and fence) and lets just say that it was not a good experience. Plus to top things up the Claims rep was, well lets just say very cold and firm (I do have other words to describe, but).
Pool guy in town told me he had over 26 pools that went down that winter, most got coverage and assistance, not me !!
Been with TD Meloche Monnex since 2004 and just thought they were the best thing since sliced bread, not so !!
Following year House coverage next to doubled in price and no way to negotiate anything with them.
Now with Personal in Ontario, saved a lot of money. They would not insure Mustang though so with Hagerty on that one.
